Robotaxis and autonomy - the billion-strong ecosystem behind the cars - IAA 2025
Hello dear Getquin Community,
This year's IAA Mobility in Munich showed that the automotive industry is on the verge of a turning point. With over 30 percent more exhibitors than in 2023 and numerous premieres from Audi, $BMW (-0,08 %) BMW, $MBG (+1,52 %) Mercedes, $VOW3 (+0,19 %) VW, Opel and Chinese challengers such as BYD and $1211 (-2,74 %) BYD and $9868 (-3,51 %) XPeng, it became clear that electromobility has now become the standard. However, behind these new platforms and concepts lies an even bigger topic, namely autonomous driving and the robotaxis of the future.
In order to present this field in a clear and transparent way for investors, I have broken down the entire value chain into individual sectors. These include automotive and suppliers, semiconductors and technology, communication and infrastructure, software and algorithms, logistics and transportation, insurance and finance, energy and infrastructure, battery and propulsion, maps and mapping, and safety and cybersecurity. I would say a bit emotional

I'm almost too interested in the whole stock market topic. Over the last few weeks, I've been completely fixated on shares and finance.
Every day I've been following the posts on the platform, looking through all the portfolios and thinking about what to do next.
Sometimes I ignored the saying "time in the market beats timing the market" and unconsciously started gambling.
I thought about investment strategies every day. Sometimes I simply implemented crazy ideas, which I thought were stupid the next day.
My starting position was 4 ETFs. An All World, a Europe, an Asia and the Gerd Kommer ETF as mentioned in the previous post.
In the end, I decided on the $VWRL (+0,15 %) . I sold each ETF to create 2 new positions with the total amount. $SESG (-3,7 %) & $VNA (+0,06 %) to open. The rest of the total amount was placed entirely in the ETF. I had been watching both individual stocks for a while now and had read up on them. I am convinced of both companies so far. Both make up 6% of the portfolio and will be added to later when the time is right.
In addition, I add $SIE (-0,19 %) back into my portfolio via a savings plan. I save this position until it has reached a weighting of 10% in the portfolio.
Once this has been reached, I would like to take the same step with an insurer. However, I have not yet decided whether this will also be a German share like $ALV (-0,22 %) or whether I will opt for a Swiss share like $SREN (+0,33 %) will be chosen.
Besides, I still have stocks on the screen like $NVDA (-0,8 %) | $AMD (-3,56 %) | $GOOGL (-0,67 %) | $BATS (-1,02 %) | $KO (+0,55 %) which I am actually convinced of, but am only observing for the time being.
Stocks like $KTN (-1,89 %) | $RTLL (+0,57 %) | $8001 (+0,68 %) | $SOFI (-2,94 %) | $6861 (+1,69 %) are and will remain quite interesting, but I still have some uncertainties.
$BTC (+1,45 %) will find its way into my portfolio sooner or later. Unfortunately, I don't have the money to open another position. So I'll wait and see
Brief battle plan:

- Higher savings plan + focus on one ETF
- Add or expand positions through dividends.
- Enforce 10% share limit
- Keep calm and don't become stingy again

(Re)insurer dividend that tastes good
It was only recently that I decided to say goodbye to my individual shares $ALV (-0,22 %)
$MUV2 (-0,31 %)
$SREN (+0,33 %)
$CS (-1,04 %) and $ZURN (-0,13 %) and to invest in a corresponding ETF instead - the desire for (re)insurers was too great, but the budget for the sector was too low. With $EXH5 (-0,34 %) I have found a solid ETF for myself that has a strong weighting in the (re)insurers that appeal to me (currently $ALV (-0,22 %) with just under 18%, followed by $ZURN (-0,13 %) with 12% and $CS (-1,04 %) and $MUV2 (-0,31 %) with just under 10% each).
At the next payout, hopefully there will be a full share as a dividend so that there is enough for liability insurance that also covers the wife and child 😁

- How do you rate the relatively small number of companies in the ETF? Risk assessment?

Can you explain why it has a fund volume of "only" 50 million, while, for example, the more than twice as expensive iShares STOXX Europe 600 Insurance UCITS ETF (DE) $EXH5 (-0,34 %) has a fund volume of more than 450 million - even though both ETFs have almost identical growth?

The ETF: as it is still heavily weighted at the top for the few stocks (Allianz 14% etc.), I would personally prefer to put the shares in my portfolio myself.
But now the general point: insurance companies have been able to generate excess returns in recent years due to high interest rates. At least for all US shareholders outside the United Health of America, i.e. those who live outside the USA - in other words, for us EU citizens. What do you think? Is it coming? Is it not coming? What are the Democrats doing about it? How high is your US share, and are you investing in US dividend stocks such as Realty Income and the like? Are you orienting yourselves towards the EU or where are you doing what?
I am at about 40% US and have been doing this for 3 years. And that's where I remain. As far as the supposed dividend tax increase is concerned, I'm waiting and staying on the sidelines.
