• Anthropic Commits to Akamai's Cloud Infrastructure for the Long Term
• Warrant could give Anthropic a stake in Akamai in the future
• The contract can be expanded to approximately $20 billion

Akamai, a provider of cloud infrastructure, has Anthropic an agreement expanded to $11.6 billion over seven years, which can be increased by an additional $9 billion to approximately $20 billion.

Akamai Massively Expands Its Business with Anthropic

Akamai announced on Thursday that it is significantly expanding its collaboration with Anthropic. Under the agreement, Akamai Cloud’s distributed infrastructure and software will handle Anthropic’s growing CPU workloads. As part of the deal, Anthropic received a Optionsscheinthat entitles it to purchase convertible, non-voting Series B preferred stock. Upon conversion, this would correspond to approximately 7.7 million common shares, or up to 5 percent of Akamai’s outstanding shares, at an exercise price of $111.33 per share. Approximately 2 percent of these are expected to vest in connection with the commitment announced today, with the remaining 3 percent vesting only if Anthropic extends the contract by up to an additional $9 billion.

Akamai expects capital expenditures of approximately $5.5 billion for the investments under the agreement. The revenue forecast for the current fiscal year remains unaffected, but capital expenditures for the current year are expected to increase by approximately $1.7 billion to secure critical supply chain components such as storage. CEO Tom Leighton stated that Anthropic is driving the AI revolution and has chosen Akamai for its capabilities in building and operating AI infrastructure at scale. The agreement complements multi-year commitments totaling over $2.8 billion from Akamai’s existing customer base that were announced earlier this year.

I have considered investing in $AKAM (-4,95%) to invest. It has finally had a small setback in the last week.

The reason for my consideration is the collaboration with Anthropic!

Nvidia addressed it tonight: "What we are bringing online in 2026 and 2027 in terms of Vera Ruby (CPU + GPU) capacity for Anthropic is very significant. We are dramatically gaining market share in Inference." Anthropic books this chip computing power through deals with Google and Amazon. Around 50 billion dollars a year flow to these giants and, thanks to the 1.8 billion deal with Akamai over seven years, an initial 0.3 billion to them. My thesis: this was just the beginning. If Akamai proves itself as a cloud partner, there are huge follow-up orders on the horizon. With the IPO in the fall, the Claude parent company could raise 60 billion for new investments. A hypothetical bull case: Anthropic increases its revenue tenfold by 2030 and, thanks to Akamai's inferencing and latency strength, distributes five percent of its costs to the AI cloud newcomer instead of 0.5 percent. In the best-case scenario, this could bring Akamai's AI revenue to eight billion per year - and double the Group's turnover.

Of course, as usual, this is a hot ride. But I don't think it's impossible!

Investing.com - According to Morgan Stanley, artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing the demand for software infrastructure. Providers of data and cloud platforms in particular could benefit from this to an above-average extent.

Following an industry conference, analyst Sanjit Singh was optimistic for parts of the sector. He left the event "with a better feeling for the growth prospects" in the infrastructure software sector, he wrote in a study published on Friday. Companies with large platforms in particular would have good cards - their systems are too complex to simply recreate with the help of AI programming agents.

At the conference, the managers of leading providers convincingly explained why their business models are hardly threatened by possible displacement by AI. The decisive factors are "the size and complexity of their infrastructure platforms" and the high overall costs for customers to develop comparable systems themselves, Morgan Stanley said.

According to the analysts, the increasing use of multiple cloud providers also speaks in favor of the established platforms. Their multicloud architecture provides the "availability and resilience" required for business-critical applications.

Investors should therefore focus on software companies "that provide things that AI agents will consume in large quantities", says Singh. Solutions for data infrastructure and so-called observability software, which companies use to monitor and analyze their systems, are particularly in demand.

Morgan Stanley names several well-known names from the infrastructure segment as the most promising beneficiaries. These include Snowflake (NYSE:SNOW), Datadog (NASDAQ:DDOG), Akamai (NASDAQ:AKAM) and Jfrog (NASDAQ:FROG). Snowflake in particular impressed at the conference. The management showed a "strong sense of urgency" in dealing with the changes brought about by AI, the analysts wrote.

While investors are still discussing the long-term consequences of a world with AI agents, Morgan Stanley already sees clear trends. "The outperformers in 2026 will be those companies that are linked to the most important IT priorities in the current environment," says Singh. These include, above all, accelerated cloud migrations, new applications and continued high software development activity.

After the conference, Morgan Stanley therefore named $SNOW (-8,37%) , $AKAM (-4,95%) , $DDOG (-7,38%) and $FROG (-9,85%) as the most important investment ideas in the sector. This is followed by the database specialist MongoDB (NASDAQ:MDB).

@Klein-Anleger You were looking for a share in this sector.

Akamai $AKAM (-4,95%) announced that Deutsche Telekom Security $DTE (+0,98%)a member of the Akamai Partner Connect program, is leveraging Akamai's Security Certified Service Provider initiative to provide cybersecurity services to its customers in key industries such as financial services, insurance, critical infrastructure and the public sector.

Using Akamai's Security Certified Service capabilities, Deutsche Telekom Security now offers proactive Day 2 operational services that provide customers with continuous end-to-end management across the entire API security lifecycle.

These services include comprehensive operational and management capabilities such as hybrid deployments, quarterly business reviews, and API audits and compliance. They also include professional security incident management and proactive API security testing.

In addition, Deutsche Telekom Security extends its support to Akamai Guardicore Segmentation environments, offering specialized services such as segmentation management, security incident management, and audits and compliance. All of these services can be run in a sovereign cloud.

"We are achieving great results with Akamai's advanced Security Certified Service Provider programs," said Christian Günther, Head of Sales Major Accounts at Deutsche Telekom Security. "As an early adopter, we offer our customers even better API security and support for software-defined segmentation. This enables them to remain secure and compliant in a dynamic cybersecurity landscape that is becoming increasingly complex."

The enhancements to Akamai's Security Certified Service Provider programs are in response to the growing need for robust API security and micro-segmentation solutions, particularly in industries that are heavily impacted by cyberthreats.

A 2025 State of the Internet (SOTI) report from Akamai found that the number of recorded API attacks increased to 150 billion between January 2023 and December 2024. The attacks can lead to significant financial losses, data breaches and reputational damage, highlighting the importance of securing APIs and implementing micro-segmentation strategies.

Hello my dears,

Lately I have noticed that the comments under my company presentations have become fewer and fewer.

That's why I analyzed the last comments again.

The criticism here was:

• The share has already run too hot
• The margins are too low, or the company is not profitable

That's why I looked in the value area today, which is rather unusual for me. And that's why I found almost no company. Which fulfills my other criteria.

But when I looked again, a company from a growth sector caught my eye.

When I looked at the earnings estimates, I came up with a earnings growth of almost +40 % next year, and almost 62 % in 2028 , Akamai stood out.

Margins should also fall this time, with an EBIT margin which is almost 30 % is at almost 30 %.

(@All-in-or-nothing ??)

My favorite momentum seems to be slowly emerging.

Chart-technically shortly before the breakout.

(@TomTurboInvest ??)

Software stocks took a beating last year. This trend does not seem to have passed Akamai by.

Which I think is good, because we are getting a stock from a future and growth sector at a great valuation.

In my opinion, Akamai was unjustly punished. Of course there was a decline in net income in 2024, but that should be water under the bridge by now. Where is the famous investor's view of the future here?

In my opinion, AI should not harm the company, rather the opposite, and play into its cards.

My dears, so let's not just talk about AI, but simply ask them:

📈 Short answer

Yes, Cyberattacks will increase significantly due to AI - and this is not just a guess, but has been confirmed by several independent security studies.

🔥 Why AI is increasing cyberattacks

1 AI makes attacks faster, cheaper and more precise

• AI enables automated scanning of vulnerabilities on a gigantic scale - 36,000 attack probes per second have been measured.
• Attackers can use AI to identify attack surfaces in seconds, compromise systems and expand access.

2. phishing & social engineering are being perfected

• AI generates deceptively real emails, voices (vishing) and deepfakes.
• Google warns of a "tectonic shift": AI-supported deepfakes and fake IT employees will increase massively in 2026.
• Phishing now accounts for around 75% of all attacks - and rising sharply

3 AI-based attacks are exploding statistically

• AI-driven cyber attacks have increased by 72 % in 2025.
• 87% of companies now report AI-based incidents.

4. state actors use AI aggressively

• According to Google, Europe will be increasingly targeted by state attacks in 2026 - AI-supported, highly automated and strategic.

5 Professional cybercrime is on the rise

• The number of successful attacks in Europe has tripled since 2020 tripled since.

🧭 Conclusion

Yes - cyberattacks will not only increase due to AI, they will change qualitatively. Attacks will be:

• faster
• more scalable
• harder to detect
• more focused on people instead of just systems

For companies, this means AI is becoming a central risk and defense factor at the same time.

Thank you dear AI for your quick response.

(@EpsEra my dear, didn't you also deal with this topic the other day and what do you think of akamai $AKAM (-4,95%) ??)

My friends,

today I'll start the company presentation with the valuation and the chart.

Have fun exploring Akamai $AKAM (-4,95%)

The key figure with the highest stability for the Akamai Technologies share is the operating cash flow, which is used below for the valuation. The KCV (price/cash flow ratio) calculated from this ratio is 8.91, which is 2.93 points below the historical average of 11.84 for the last 10 years. From this perspective, the Akamai Technologies share appears to be favorably valued to be favorably valued. (Stock Finder)

The fair value of the Akamai Technologies share is calculated over the 10-year valuation period selected above. The average KCV in this case is 11.84.

Multiplied by the operating cash flow per share of USD 10.88 over the last 4 quarters, this results in a fair value of USD 128.84 for the Akamai Technologies share. The current share price of USD 95.08 is 26.2% below this fair value, which corresponds to an undervaluation of the share.

Company history

Akamai's beginnings lie in a challenge posed by World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in early 1995. The father of the Web foresaw the overload that would soon become very familiar to Internet users and challenged his colleagues at MIT to invent a fundamentally new and better way to deliver Internet content. What he perhaps didn't foresee was that posing the problem in an academic setting would ultimately lead to a commercial service that revolutionized the Internet.

MIT Professor of Applied Mathematics Tom Leighton, who had an office down the hall from Dr. Berners-Lee, was intrigued by the challenge. Dr. Leighton, a renowned expert in parallel algorithms and architecture, headed the Algorithms Group at MIT's Laboratory for Computer Science. Dr. Leighton recognized that a solution to web congestion could be found in applied mathematics and algorithms and assembled a team of researchers to tackle the problem.

After earning his bachelor's degrees in computer science and mathematics at the Technion, Danny Lewin came to MIT in the fall of 1996 to work with Dr. Leighton. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Lewin began to make rapid and important progress on several techniques to improve Internet performance. Together with the team, Dr. Leighton and Mr. Lewin developed the mathematical algorithms necessary to intelligently route and replicate content across a large network of distributed servers - a technology that would ultimately solve the increasingly frustrating problem for Internet users.

Building a company

In 1997, Dr. Leighton and Mr. Lewin began exploring the potential commercial use of their technology. Together with Preetish Nijhawan (a student at MIT's Sloan School), they entered the prestigious annual MIT $50K Entrepreneurship Competition in September of that year. Over the course of the 9-month competition, the $50K team grew significantly, and their business plan was selected as one of six finalists out of 100 entries. This distinction signaled that Internet content delivery had serious market potential, and on August 20, 1998, Dr. Leighton and Mr. Lewin accepted Akamai, with Jonathan Seelig (a student at the Sloan School) and Randall Kaplan joining the founding team. Akamai obtained an exclusive license to certain intellectual property from MIT, and development work began in the fall of 1998. Most of the company's early employees were students who had worked on the project at MIT.

In late 1998 and early 1999, experienced Internet business people joined the team. Best known is Paul Sagan, former president of Time Inc. New Media, a founder of the cable modem Road Runner and co-founder of NY 1 News, became Chief Operating Officer and eventually President of Akamai (later CEO from 2005 to 2013). George Conrades, former Chairman and CEO of BBN Corp. and Senior Vice President of U.S. Operations at IBM, took the helm as Akamai's first Chairman and CEO in April 1999.

Launch of the commercial service

The company grew rapidly, delivering its first live traffic (a pixel buried deep in the Disney site) in February 1999. In March, Akamai gained significant market presence when it facilitated the release of March Madness for ESPN and a Star Wars trailer for Entertainment Tonight, both of which saw historically high user demand. Akamai launched the commercial service in April 1999 and announced that one of the world's most visited Web companies, Yahoo! was a founding customer.

Hello my dears,

Even the Tageschau is now talking about an AI bubble.

However, when I look at the valuations and annual performance of some AI companies, there is a world of difference.

As an example, I would like to present $KD (-0,25%) Kyndryl. Or $AKAM (-4,95%) Akamai would also be an example.

But let's stay with Kyndryl, where I noticed an annual performance of MINUS 26 %.

I immediately assumed that it was overvalued. But with a P/E ratio of 16, which has fallen by half and will fall again to 9.44 next year. I cannot determine an overvaluation.

So my next assumption was that it must be due to growth. But with earnings growth.

2025: 71 % 2026: 60.45 % 2027: 37.85 % (according to Onvista)

this assumption cannot be correct either.

That's why I went here and picked out more multiples.

I would now like to get the whole community on board.

Can you find a reason why there is no positive performance here despite the multiples?

Or is now perhaps even a good time to add this very cheap AI stock to your portfolio?

I hope for plenty of comments

My dears,

I can't really find a fly in the ointment. @Liebesspieler

Sales are only increasing at a single-digit rate and the EBIT margin is also in the single-digit range.

But here I would like to point out that the company has only just become profitable.

What I like is the increase in all key figures and the simultaneous reduction in debt.

Profits are rising significantly faster than sales.

And the analysts recommend buying.

Kyndryl in focus as Guggenheim begins purchase evaluation

Kyndryl (KD) was in focus on Wednesday as Guggenheim initiated coverage of the technology company with a buy rating and a $30 price target.

Shares rose modestly in premarket trading.

"Since the spin-off of IBM in 2021, the management of Kyndryl Holdings, Inc. (KD) has been actively reshaping its business through the 'Triple A' program - Alliances, Advanced Delivery, and Accounts - to increase the quality of signings, automate and standardize delivery, and enforce contract discipline, enabling improved profitability and positive free cash flow in a large, slow-growth TAM segment with high barriers to entry and a limited number of scaled competitors," analyst Jonathan Lee wrote in a note to clients. " Although the recent transaction shift has impacted revenue performance, profitability progress is encouraging, especially in a challenging macro environment. As such, we believe KD is among the best positioned companies in the infrastructure outsourcing space to transition to stability in the medium term, which underpins our coverage initiation with a Buy rating and $30 price target."

To follow up further, Lee said that Investor Day 2024, where the company's management outlined its medium-term ambitions, had been helpful. Highlighting its goal to triple cash flow, double pre-tax profits and achieve single-digit revenue growth by fiscal 2028, the company is focused on "building a 'healthier' services company by prioritizing portfolio quality," Lee explained.

"While we are still in the early stages of the company's turnaround, we see positive progress in the company's 'Triple A' initiative, which supports our Buy rating as post-spin deal signings contribute to higher profitability in the near to medium term," Lee added.

By focusing on areas such as cloud, application data and AI, security and edge, Kyndryl continues to evolve its business mix to capitalize on growth opportunities.
