The space company is one step closer to offering mobile connections to smartphones directly from space. The stocks of its competitors, particularly $DTE (+1,17 %)
$VZ (+1,03 %) and $T (+1,07 %) are falling sharply.

The space company SpaceX , with its satellite operator Starlink, is challenging established U.S. mobile carriers such as T-Mobile US and Verizon . SpaceX On Thursday, it agreed to purchase a nationwide portfolio of low-frequency spectrum to offer mobile connections directly from space to smartphones in the future.

The seller of the 800-megahertz frequencies is the private equity firm Grain Management, which is divesting its entire portfolio. Financial details were not disclosed.

With this acquisition, SpaceX, led by the entrepreneur, Elon Musk one of the biggest technical hurdles for satellite-based mobile networks. Low-frequency bands can penetrate obstacles such as walls or trees more effectively. They are intended to complement Starlink Mobile’s existing global 2-gigahertz spectrum, which is designed for high bandwidths. The deal still requires approval from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The move caused unease on the stock market, as investors fear an aggressive price war in the already saturated U.S. mobile market. Shares of T-Mobile US, Verizon and AT&T fell.

Earlier this week, the FCC also approved the application for Starlink Mobile’s second generation of satellites. This allows SpaceX to launch 15,000 satellites into space that are optimized for the 2-gigahertz spectrum worldwide.

⠀

• Elon Musk calls the approval the “last missing piece of the puzzle” for SpaceX’s cellular coverage.

• Following SpaceX’s spectrum purchase, U.S. telecom stocks come under heavy pressure.

• $VZ (+1,03 %) Verizon: -5.1%

• $T (+1,07 %) AT&T: -5.8%

• $TMUS (-0,19 %) T-Mobile US: -5.8%

⠀

Deutsche Telekom $DTE (+1,17 %) could come under pressure, particularly due to its majority stake in T-Mobile US. In the long term, Starlink could increase competitive pressure on traditional mobile carriers.

Just another quick update from the depths of my portfolio. To be honest, not much has happened. Unfortunately, September really messed up my performance 🤪 But it’s all good.

My focus has shifted a bit toward my CHF investments $NOVN (+3,46 %) and $SREN (-0,28 %) these are new additions from Q3. Savings plans are still ongoing with $SLHN (+0,56 %) and $ZURN (+0,16 %) plus a few additional purchases of individual stocks $NESN (+0,44 %)
$ACLN (-0,76 %)
$VZN (+0,93 %)

As for U.S. stocks, from now on I’ll only be making selective purchases, such as with $CARR (-2,05 %)
$MCD (+2,55 %)
$VZ (+1,03 %) ; savings plans have been paused. My euro investments haven’t changed much either, except for reinvested dividends from the ETFs.

Speaking of dividends—and watch out for this milestone! My portfolio has surpassed the €100k gross dividend mark 🥳 In a maximum of 5 years, the €200k mark should be reached at €20k gross per month—and the trend is upward.

The plan for Q4 is therefore to continue making targeted purchases (on the defensive side) and build up cash reserves.

📊 INVESTMENT ACTIVITY | AUGUST 2026

August was another month of building and consolidating my portfolio. 📈

💰 Portfolio value: €4,592.76

💵 Dividends received: €17.61

📈 Realized return: +10.28 €

📊 Unrealized return: +159.10 €

📉 Change in open position: −16.49 €

🔄 MONTHLY CHANGES

The main focus continued to be $LX (-2,56 %) , where I took advantage of the price drop to add to my position and gradually lower the average cost.

During the month, I also made some sales, notably in $IIPR (+0,91 %) and $PRGO (-0,49 %) , and added a little more to $MAGO (-2,23 %) .

💰 DIVIDENDS

I received dividends from:

$VZ (+1,03 %) • $POLR (+2,19 %) • $MAGO (-2,23 %) • $NNN (+1,34 %) • $O (+0,54 %) • $APLE (+0,87 %) • $KVUE (+1,55 %) • $PBR (-1,01 %) • $EQNR (+0,64 %) • $OXLC (-0,17 %)

🎯 GOAL

To continue growing the invested capital and, over the years, build a portfolio that is increasingly capable of generating passive income through dividends.

August had its ups and downs, but the strategy remains simple:

📌 Invest every month

📌 Strengthen positions with potential

📌 Take advantage of market opportunities

📌 Think long term

The goal isn’t to get it right every month. It’s to keep building. 💪📈

Just yesterday I was a customer… today I’m an $MCD (+2,55 %) an investor. Life goes round and round like a merry-go-round… 🙃

Joking aside, since I think that SpaceX
slow-moving companies like $VZ (+1,03 %) will slow down even more in the future than they’re already slowing themselves down, I’ve by half and reallocated it to good dividend compounders such as $MCD (+2,55 %)
$PAYX (+1,44 %)
$MDLZ (+4,96 %)
$ACN (+4,49 %) .

In my be , things will be more exciting here in the future than with $VZ, and Verizon’s 6.6% dividend yield will be surpassed in 10 years anyway by the dividend growth of the new holdings.
