17A wise stock market guru once said: Pumpkins are the new memory chips
WALL STREET IS IN AN UPROAR – BREAKING NEWS Star investor Homer Simpson invests in Sprouts – “Pumpkins are the new gold!”
Springfield: News has sent shockwaves through the financial world: Star investor and self-proclaimed stock market expert Homer J. Simpson has unexpectedly purchased ten shares in the U.S. supermarket chain Sprouts Farmers Market. His reasoning? Halloween is just around the corner—and Homer is expecting a historic pumpkin rally!
“Marge, I’m telling you: This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!” Simpson declared, holding a donut in one hand and frantically refreshing the GetQuin app with the other. “Every year, people buy pumpkins. And every year, they get carved! That’s practically a consumer monopoly!”
🎃 The Great Pumpkin Speculation
After a thorough market analysis—consisting of a visit to the produce section and three minutes of thinking—Simpson concluded that the pumpkin market in American households is on the verge of an explosive price surge.
His forecast: The closer Halloween gets, the more expensive these orange nuggets of gold will become. If demand continues to rise, pumpkins could soon be traded as an alternative asset class alongside gold, oil, and donuts.
Financial experts are impressed. One of them commented anonymously: “We have no idea what Homer is up to. But at least this time he didn’t put his investment into a donut.”
📈 Ten shares, one vision
By purchasing ten shares, Simpson is pursuing a down-to-earth strategy: start small, dream big, and—ideally—sell before Halloween.
When asked if he had also considered the risks of his investment, Homer replied calmly: “Risks? Of course! What if people suddenly prefer to buy zucchini?”
🏦 Is Sprouts Poised for a Pumpkin Boom?
Sprouts Farmers Market, known for fresh food and health-conscious customers, could come into the spotlight of speculative investors due to seasonal demand for pumpkins. Whether Simpson’s entry is actually the start of a new stock market rally remains to be seen.
Market observers, however, warn against excessive optimism: Pumpkins are perishable, demand is seasonal, and not every pumpkin is suitable as a long-term investment.
🎃Conclusion:
Homer Simpson remains optimistic. His long-term goal is to “become financially independent without ever having to worry about supermarket prices again.”
Until then, he’s holding on to his ten shares of Sprouts.

Sprouts Farmers Market – Currently at the top of my watchlist 👀
$SFM (-0,07%) – Sprouts Farmers Market is a U.S. food retailer focused on fresh, natural, and organic foods. The company continues to grow strongly: In 2025, it generated $8.8 billion in revenue , an increase of 14%, while earnings per share rose from $3.75 to $5.31 . At the same time, 37 new stores were opened!
Growth continues in 2026 as well. In the second quarter, revenue totaled approximately $2.3 billion, while the company expects revenue growth of 4.5–6.5% and EPS of $5.32–$5.48 .
Following a rally of over 1,000% , we finally saw the long-awaited correction of about 65%. At the same time, we’re currently seeing high trading volume in the range of $70–$90 .
On the daily chart, we continue to form higher highs and higher lows, which generally suggests continued buying interest. Nevertheless, I don’t want to enter the market too early; instead, I’ll wait for a breakout above the high at around $95 with strong momentum . Should this breakout occur, I will definitely place my place my first position. 👀
Not a buy recommendation—everyone should conduct their own research and be aware of the risks.

Falling knifes
I try not to buy stocks with bad momentum… but what are your thoughts?
$LRN (+0,35%) STRIDE (strong sell) 8 p/e. Down 50% last month. Bad news on the earnings report, with tech issues, lower enrollments and guidance than expected. But the stock is trading very cheap with interesting growth projected…
$SFM (-0,07%) SPROUTS FARMERS MARKET (strong sell) 15 p/e down 21% last month and 53% last 6 months. Slower growth than projected and headwinds with inflation and competence, but still orojecting many new openings etc in a segment that is growing.
$ATGE (-0,51%) ADTALEM GLOBAL EDUCATION (hold) 13 p/e down 36% last month. Falling following Stride’s disgrace… maybe exagerated again, also “cheap”.
$EAT (-0,44%) BRINKER INTERNATIONAL (hold) 15 p/e
down 20% last month. Growing but slowing due bad performance of Maggiano’s, while growing strong with Chilli’s… implementing changes, nice growth projected ahead, interesting price.
$ADBE (-0,76%) ADOBE (hold) 16 p/e down 35% last year and 30% last 5 years. Lower p/e I’ve seen in Adobe while growing still strong and capitalizing AI. Market is afraid of them lossing their moat to AI. Oportunity?
I did buy sprouts, and I’m tempted by the others, it’s difficult to find growing companies at low valuations. Ratings are from SA
Buying the dip
Well I was going to stay calm for some days now, but I’m adding $SFM (-0,07%) to my portfolio, after a massive sellof of 26% today, which made the stock be about 55% down from its hights.
At this point, I find this food ratailer attractive for its growth profile and its healthy food segment focus. Although the selloff is exactly for slowing growth and the fact that there’re headwinds, the company plans many store openings for next year, it has correct margins, and valuation now is acceptable at a 20 P/E while growing 16% on revenue and 34% on estnings YoY and expected to grow revenue 14% next year.
It is also a diversification from my heavy finance-tech porftolio.
Sprouts Farmers
Analysts have lowered the price target from $SFM (-0,07%) partly to as low as 82$.
What do you think of yesterday's figures and what does Starinvestor think? @Simpson ?
Buying United Natural Foods
After a major 30% pullback, I’m buying the dip on $UNFI (-0,21%) .
United Natural Foods is the leading organic food wholesale distributor in the U.S., and a key partner of Whole Foods and Sprouts Farmers Market ($SFM (-0,07%) ). The natural and organic segment is projected to grow around 11% annually over the coming years, and $UNFI is strongly positioned to benefit from this trend.
The recent selloff was triggered by a cyberattack that disrupted operations and caused temporary losses in sales. However, I see this as a short-term setback rather than a structural issue. The company just posted better-than-expected earnings, showing underlying strength.
In today’s uncertain market, I prefer to invest in companies in the consumer staples space — traditionally considered “safe” — that also offer growth potential. After recent disappointments with $PEP (-0,43%) and $PG (-0,78%) , likely due to shifting consumer preferences toward healthier products, I see $UNFI (-0,21%) as being on the right side of that trend.
This 30% drop looks more like an opportunity than a warning sign.
