Can't find any news. Does the market now expect $NOVO B (+0,86%) that the market will look around again because its own products are flopping?
Will it still work? What do you think?
Novo Nordisk says back on the hunt for obesity deals, Bloomberg reports
Novo Nordisk ($NOVO B (+0,86%) ) is back on the hunt for deals to boost its obesity portfolio after losing U.S. biotech Metsera in a bidding war with Pfizer ($PFE (+1,7%)) late last year, Bloomberg’s Naomi Kresge and Cynthia Koons report. “We’re in the market for big or small,” Chief Executive Officer Mike Doustdar said in an interview at the JPMorgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco. “As long as it’s complementary to our own assets, then we can go very big, very big in buying something in, but it has to be worth it and it has to be so much better than whatever we have.” Several names in the space were moving up following the news report, including Viking Therapeutics ($VKTX (-2,02%)), Terns Pharmaceuticals ($TERN), and Structure Therapeutics ($GPCR).
Trading 212 Pies
I had already flirted a few times with posts about Trading 212 and the possibility of creating pies to open a portfolio and yesterday after the post of @Novius finally went through with it (kiss goes out). The opening was also very easy with just a few clicks, only the flash transfer was rejected yesterday by my Sparkasse app and was credited to the broker this morning.
The year is only 12 days old and I've already broken all my New Year's resolutions not to take on any additional individual securities for the time being and to put more money into the good $GERD (-0,88%) in addition to the savings plans. Instead, the money went into Salesforce $CRM (+2,71%) and BB Biotech $BION (-0,55%). I have no idea why I lack the discipline to invest. Maybe it will get better in
February... Maybe it will get better with the Pie 🥸
I'm only using Trading 212 as a gimmick for the time being and have picked speculative individual stocks from six sectors/thematic areas that have actually run too hot for me (the classic community stocks 😃) and would only find their way into the portfolio in the event of a setback.
would only find their way into the portfolio in the event of a setback or whose business model I don't understand (quantum computing, biotech) and therefore have no place in the portfolio without research.
Most of the stocks will be familiar to you. I will therefore refrain from describing them. With the exception of biotech. Since Gemini really had to serve as an advisor for individual stocks. However, I also had $VTYX an egg in my portfolio where the takeover modalities are already set at 14 $/share.
1. Quantum: IonQ, D-Wave, Rigetti.
2. Space: Rocket Lab, Intuitive Machines, Redwire, AST SpaceMobile.
3. defense (autonomous): Kraken Robotics, Ondas, Kratos.
4. Future Mobility: Joby Aviation, Archer Aviation, EHang.
5.. Disruptive Tech: Palantir, SoFi.
6. biotech & genomic revolution (2026 candidates)
- Viking Therapeutics ($VKTX (-2,02%) ): Hottest candidate in the obesity market (weight loss drugs); considered the No. 1 takeover target for Big Pharma.
- Beam Therapeutics$BEAM): Pioneer in "base editing"; more precise gene correction than the first CRISPR generation; focus on sickle cell anemia.
- Intellia Therapeutics ($NTLA (-4,15%)
): Leader in "in vivo" editing (healing takes place directly in the patient's body).
- Ventyx Biosciences $VTYX
): Specialist in immune and inflammatory diseases; currently the target of a billion-euro takeover by Eli Lilly.
- BioAge Labs ($BIOA (+0,39%)
): Focus on longevity and metabolism; uses AI to research anti-ageing therapies.
- CytomX ($CTMX (+1,87%)
): Develops "masked" antibodies that only become active in tumor tissue in order to massively reduce side effects.
- CRISPR Therapeutics ($CRSP (-1,2%)
): The market leader in gene scissors; first commercial approvals for genetic defects already obtained.
Pies for the GQ community?
A few weeks ago - based on a post by @Hotte1909 - about Trading 212 and the possibility of pies for the community. Since then, I have been investing in a dividend pie every month.
Perhaps it would be interesting for the active GQ members to create their own pies, which can then be copied / used by the other - e.g. more passive - members?
For example, I myself would be interested in the one or other investment idea from @Tenbagger2024 | @SAUgut777 | @Klein-Anleger | @Multibagger | @Shiya and others. But everything has its 💰limits. Others may feel the same 🙂.
Perhaps pies from the above-mentioned "active people" could help to participate in the ideas, within the limits of their own financial means?
Conversion to rebalancing has taken place.
As announced, I have parted with my broad mass of numerous individual stocks and ETFs and focused on these 21 positions.
The core here is the Kommer and the All World (ACWI is held exclusively for my daughter).
The 4 main satellites are $GOOGL (-3,06%) , $SIE (-3,62%) , $4901 (+1,02%) and the cost environment consisting of $MCD (+2,72%) , $KO (+2,95%) and $ULVR (+3,64%)
In addition, I have created $PNG (-3,91%) and $DMAG (-4,14%) two larger segments in the future-oriented area - also with $IREN (-9,27%) , $VKTX (-2,02%) and $ONDS (-4,64%) albeit much smaller.
The $XDWU (+1,47%) is intended to bring a little more security into the system. The $EUDF (-0,87%) clearly speaks for itself and the $XDWH (+1,73%) likewise.
I have now slightly exceeded my target of 60/35/5 in etf/equities/crypto, so the savings rate will go into equities and crypto over the next few months.
The stocks I will be saving in now are: Alphabet, Siemens, Fuji, coca-Cola, McDonald's and Unilever.
From my point of view, I now have a portfolio that offers greater security overall, but is also forward-looking in terms of sectors.
What do you think?

- Stifel (Buy, $40.60) after CEO and CFO appearance: Recruiting in VANQUISH program running at record pace, full enrollment by Q1 2026 expected - Several paths to commercialization in sight
- Valuation more favorable than $MTSR, Pipeline is considered stronger and more advanced
Aug 27 / Eli Lilly vs. Novo Nordisk
One Week Up, One Week Down – The Cycle of These Two Heavyweights
The GLP-1 saga is playing out like a weekly soap opera. Just a few weeks ago, Eli Lilly tanked after the first batch of data on its weight-loss pill, came in weaker than expected compared to Novo Nordisk’s oral semaglutide. News headlines screamed: “Novo wins this round,” and investors rotated straight into the, at that point almost burnt down, Danish camp.
Fast-forward to yesterday and the tables flipped. Lilly’s latest Phase 3 readout in obese patients with type 2 diabetes hit all the marks – over 10% average weight loss, improved blood sugar, and a safety profile consistent with injectables. A pill, once a day, no needles. Wall Street loved it, the stock surged, and Novo slipped a couple of percent in sympathy. That’s been the rhythm all summer: one week up, one week down, depending on the news cycle.
Step back though, and it’s not really Lilly vs. Novo. It’s Lilly and Novo vs. the rest of the pharma world. Together they’re shaping a $150 billion obesity market that no outsider seems to be able to crack. Novo’s Wegovy and Ozempic remain the gold standard, while both are continuing to push hard on injectables and now pills. Each headline just shifts which ticker traders decide to crown “winner of the week,” but long-term both companies are entrenched.
The contrast was brutal for Viking Therapeutics. The “up-and-coming” challenger saw its stock collapse nearly 40% after mixed Phase 2 results on its oral GLP-1/GIP candidate. Too many side-effect concerns, not enough differentiation, and – conveniently – right before Lilly reminded everyone what late-stage data is supposed to look like. Reality check: this is a two-horse race.
Personally, I own both Lilly and Novo. Obesity is a long-term trend, not a fad. Demand is global, the science is strong, and payers will eventually adapt. The week-to-week swings are just noise. Yesterday Lilly had its moment, next week it could be Novo again. Either way, the scoreboard in ten years will show both of them winning, and I am taking the discounts.

Possible Eli Lilly takeover and such a collapse?
Does anyone know what's going on here $VKTX (-2,02%) ? When the rumors surfaced in the past, the share price reacted positively - now it's crashing massively?
