Hello everyone,

At the end of last year, I published my "top picks list" here, in which I presented the stocks that I have put on my watchlist for 2024 and am also partially invested in (unfortunately not in all of them 😁).

At the time, I had compiled a list of stocks recommended by well-known analysts and put them through "my requirements profile". The original 100 stock ideas then became the list below. A year later, I'm looking back. This was the performance:

🟢 $TMUS (+2,66%) +1,63%

🟢 Sterling Infrastructure: +100.68%

🟢 $CRM (-1,36%) Salesforce: +28.14%

🟢 $RR. (+4,21%) Rolls-Royce: +92.56%

🟢 $MOD (+6,46%) Modine Manufacturing: +98.68%

🟠 $MHO (-1,67%) M/I Homes: -1.46%

🟢 $META (+3,1%) Meta: +68.52%

🟢 $MCD (+1,08%) McDonalds: +0.14%

🟢 $MA (+0,17%) Mastercard: +26.26%

🟢 $ISP (+0,18%) Intesa Sanpaolo: +45.44%

🟢 $ISRG (-1,32%) Intuitive Surgical: +59.62%

🟠 $GCT (-6,09%) Gigacloud Technologies: -0.66%

🟢 $FDX (-1,05%) FedEx: +11.11%

🟠 $LPG (+2,02%) Dorian LPG: -47.70%

🟢 $COST (-0,21%) Costco: +43.34%

🟢 $US1011372067 Boston Scientific: +63.23%

🟢 $BKNG (-2,67%) Booking: +44.19%

🟠 $ABX Barrick Gold: -14.73%

🟢 $APP (+12,74%) Applovin: +753.81%

🟢 $GOOG (+2,43%) Alphabet: +39.28%

🟢 $AMZN (+1,98%) Amazon: +48,05%

🟢 $ANF (-4,45%) Abercrombie & Fitch: +69.99%

As you can see, my stock ideas have done quite well. $APP (+12,74%) with +753.81% was of course a big hit. $DORIAN With -47.70% it was a pipe-dropper.

🔥 I'm currently working on my top picks list for 2025. If you're interested, I'll be happy to share it again and put it up for discussion!

FOMO back?

The current price movements at $SMCI
$NVDA (+3,8%)
$BTC (+0,01%) or $ANF (-4,45%) no longer appear rational - they reflect a mood that seems to be permeated by a disturbing phenomenon: the "Fear of Missing out" (FOMO). This emotional rollercoaster ride is tempting many investors to make impulsive decisions by jumping on the bandwagon for fear of missing out on "the next big thing". But in this hustle and bustle, long-term strategies and well-founded analyses are easily lost sight of.

"It's not always rational but it's rational a lot of the time that the market does the things that it does every day."- Warren Buffett

FOMO can lead to impulsive actions based on short-term emotions rather than a sound analysis of the underlying values. This poses significant risks to the portfolio, as short-term gains can often be followed by equally rapid losses. You should always remember what Buffet said about such hypes: "The stock market is designed to transfer money from the active to the patient."

How to combat FOMO:

1. take a long-term perspective: Remember that investing is for the long term. Short-term hypes are often of limited duration, while a long-term strategy promises more sustainable success.

2. rational analysis: Take the time for a rational analysis. Check the fundamentals of the investments and evaluate your risk profile.

Your feedback is crucial! Are you falling victim to FOMO? What are your experiences?
