I've got a keen eye on Stellantis and Halliburton. Wouldn't touch Boeing with a pole.

I was planning to buy a second tranche of Shell shares today, as I saw the current setback as an attractive entry opportunity. However, after taking a closer look at the share price performance over the last ten years, I realized that the share has largely underperformed over long periods of time.


This doesn't fit in with my strategy, as I generally only try to invest in stocks that could outperform the broad market. In my view, it makes little sense in the long term to tie up capital in individual stocks that cannot beat this benchmark. In such cases, I think a broadly diversified ETF portfolio is the better choice, as you get both diversification and solid performance.


What is your opinion on $SHEL (+1.02%) ? After all, there have been investments in renewable energy in recent years, but will this be the game changer?

Do you find other oil stocks interesting? Perhaps $CVX (-0.15%) , $EQNR (-1.36%) or Warrens $OXY (-0.02%) ? (If Trump had won the election, I would definitely have believed in a positive momentum here, but at this point I no longer believe that Trump will become president)

I have $SHEL in my portfolio and have no plans to change it. However, I may have a slightly different strategy than you, so for me it is also important to have a few stable, established companies alongside growth stocks that will probably not outperform, but are a bit more resilient in the event of a crisis, and I would include Shell in that.

I see $EQNR as a very solid dividend and oil stock.

Dividends and share buybacks are part of the company's strategy.

It also has a reliable partner at its side in the form of the Norwegian state, which will continue to push for reliable dividends due to its majority shareholding. In addition, the company not only relies on oil/gas, but also invests diligently in renewables, thus securing a place in the market of the future in contrast to US stocks.

For me, this is currently an opportunity to invest in a stable, *European* oil giant with secure single-digit yields.

I see $EQNR as a very solid dividend stock. I myself regularly invest in tranches and during periods of weakness.

The dividends are sufficiently covered, which is why the special dividends will also be paid in the future (0.35 & 0.35). In addition, the company is trying to maintain its share price with share buyback programs (6bn announced in the Q2 financial statement).

The company also has a reliable partner at its side in the form of the Norwegian state, which will continue to push for reliable dividends due to its majority shareholding. In addition, the company is not only relying on oil/gas, but is also investing diligently in renewables, and with success (see sales growth rates in the fin. statement).

For me, this is currently an opportunity to invest in a stable, European oil giant with secure single-digit returns.

Of course, one should not neglect the tax issue, which can be somewhat annoying.
