Dear Community,
To kick off the week, I’d like to introduce you to my “Pick-and-Shovel” wikifolio “Euro AI Backbone” (in German: Backbone). More detailed information will follow; for now, this is just a rough overview.
_________________________
Background
The market’s focus is primarily on the U.S., while Europe often plays a more subordinate role. Yet recent years in particular have made it clear just how dependent Europe is on other countries such as the U.S., Russia, and China.
By the time the “Orange Man” began his second term, it had become clear:
Europe must become more independent —not only in the field of defense but also in the field of AI.
For nearly five years, Goldman Sachs has maintained an index called “EU AI Capex,” which consists of 64 European stocks. This served as the blueprint for my wikifolio.
The wikifolio was launched on June 18, 2026. For the wikifolio to receive “Investable” status, it needs, among other things, 10 bookmarks. So I’d really appreciate it if you could click “Add to Watchlist” on the wikifolio—thanks in advance.

The “Pick-and-Shovel” Approach
The wikifolio aims to cover as much of the value chain for operating modern artificial intelligence as possible.
The focus here is primarily on five areas:
_________________________
Investment Universe
The portfolio includes European large-, mid-, and small-cap stocks.
Focus: Technology (semiconductor equipment), utilities (electricity, grids), and industrials (automation, specialty cables, data center construction, cybersecurity).
The Core: European market leaders with global monopolies and competitive moats.
The Tech Specialists: Profitable second-tier suppliers as yield boosters.
The foundation: Energy producers, grid operators, and construction specialists for stable cash flows and risk hedging.
Regular rebalancing, which typically takes place at the beginning of each month, prevents concentration risk. While the foundation remains unchanged, the weightings of individual securities may be adjusted. The replacement of individual stocks, the addition of new stocks, or the exclusion of individual stocks can also take place at the beginning of the month.
Initially, the portfolio consists of 37 stocks. There is no cash reserve.
The current allocation of holdings is as follows:
By sector:
By country:
Investments are made exclusively in European stocks. None ETFs, no investment certificates, no funds, no leveraged products.

I’m curious to see how the portfolio will perform over the long term. Monthly updates will keep you informed.
Dear Community,
Throughout last year, I found myself repeatedly wanting to focus on the European market as well. But the same old arguments kept dissuading me: The European market doesn’t deliver; Europe doesn’t meet my desire for a growth-oriented, high-yield portfolio, etc.
I also asked myself: Which sectors and industries do I want to cover? Where do I see enough potential to justify taking the risk? To what extent do I want to align my portfolio with this strategy?
In today’s episode, Alles auf Aktien: Fiese Gewinnwarnung bei BMW und Europas KI-Unabhängigkeitsaktien , something caught my attention:
A basket from Goldman Sachs, consisting of 64 European stocks, with the wonderful name: EU AI Capex.
Performance over the past five years: 17.5 percent annualized, including dividends.
_________________________
And which industries are covered?
Unfortunately, existing ETFs such as the iShares STOXX Europe 600 Utilities UCITS ETF or the iShares STOXX Europe 600 Technology UCITS ETF do not cover all of these sectors.
"Sounds exactly like what I was looking for," I thought to myself, and used my day off today to create an index tailored to my preferences.
Goldman Sachs has listed 12 of the 64 holdings, including their percentage allocations. The remaining 52 holdings appear to be known only to institutional investors, as the index isn’t publicly available.
So I created my own “Pie” through Trading 212. More specifically, a “Pie” is a personalized investment portfolio in which I can invest in multiple stocks and ETFs according to a percentage allocation I set myself and save toward them simultaneously via a single automated savings plan—with no expense ratio and no order fees.
It would go beyond the scope of this post to write about every individual security, which is why I chose this particular one. I didn’t make these decisions entirely on my own. Gemini helped me with this. In the end, we settled on 37 securities.
_________________________
On Selecting the Holdings
Together, we gradually added European market leaders across the entire value chain. We always kept an eye on the sectors—none should be left out.
_________________________
On the Percentage Allocation
It’s important to note upfront that the “pie” will be funded with 150 euros per month going forward. Since the minimum investment amount at Trading 212 is one euro, the smallest weighting in the “pie” must be at least 0.7%:
1.00 euro / 0.70% = 142.85 euro
The percentage allocation was then based on pricing power and global scalability.
More details on this may follow in a later post.

About the Stocks
From EU AI Cortex Basket taken over by Goldman Sachs:
Supplemented by the following stocks:
The figures $IG (+0,19 %) , $SRG (+0,4 %) , $TRN (-1,19 %) , $ALFA (-0,61 %) , $ATCO B (-0,47 %) or $AEMMY can unfortunately only be traded via CFDs on Trading 212. Therefore, these securities could not be included.

Trading 212 Pie
The Pie now accounts for about 10% of my portfolio, and I’ll be contributing 150 euros to it each month going forward.
I am convinced that Europe will succeed in becoming more independent. However, in my opinion, a self-sufficient Europe without any dependence whatsoever is simply not possible (keyword: globalization).

For usual transparency, last week and this week, we reinforced several positions as follows :
This makes a total of $50,341 invested in 8 assets.
One of the companies that never ceases to impress me is Safran — $SAF (-3,64 %) . Because its business model is structurally so sound that I want to explain it to anyone who isn’t familiar with it yet.
Every LEAP engine installed today on an Airbus A320neo or Boeing 737 MAX generates aftermarket revenue over its lifetime via RPFH contracts: Rate per Flight Hour. Safran receives money every time the aircraft flies. Not just once, but for 20–25 years.
In 2025, revenue grew to EUR 31.3 billion—a 14.7% increase over the previous year, with record-high LEAP deliveries and a strong aftermarket. Operating profit rose by 26% to EUR 5.2 billion, and the margin expanded by 150 basis points to 16.6%. Free cash flow: EUR 3.9 billion—despite massive investments in new production capacity. The Propulsion division—the core of the business—delivers even more: in the first half of 2025, the Propulsion division’s operating margin stood at 23.3%, an increase of 3.4 percentage points.
The LEAP is still young. Deliveries of the engines began in 2016—the first major maintenance cycles are only just beginning. Safran expects LEAP aftermarket revenue to more than triple between 2024 and 2028. In 2025, 1,802 LEAP engines were delivered—a 28% increase compared to 2024. In the fourth quarter alone, the delivery rate rose by 49% year-over-year. Each of these engines represents a future aftermarket revenue stream that will not truly take off for another 5–8 years.
In the first quarter of 2026, revenue grew organically by 23%, with spare parts sales rising 29% and services increasing 43%. LEAP deliveries exceeded the 500-unit-per-quarter mark for the third consecutive time. Safran has raised its EBIT target for 2028 to EUR 7.0–7.5 billion and plans to deliver approximately 2,600 LEAP engines this year. Cumulative free cash flow 2024–2028: approx. EUR 21 billion.
Safran has a net USD exposure of approx. USD 16 billion per year — nearly all aerospace contracts are denominated in dollars. 2026, 2027, and 2028 are fully hedged with a target exchange rate of EUR/USD 1.12. This means: currency volatility is largely out of the equation for the next three years. The result is predictable.
Air traffic volume is the baseline assumption. Fewer flights mean lower RPFH revenue. Supply chain issues in LEAP production are a well-known issue—2024 was a difficult year, with 2025 set to be a catch-up year. Whether the ramp-up in 2026/27 goes smoothly remains a point to watch. And the strong euro remains a long-term structural headwind despite hedging.
Safran is not a cyclical stock. It is an infrastructure company packaged as an aircraft engine manufacturer. The installed base of LEAP engines, now exceeding 10,000 worldwide, is a stream of annuities that is just beginning to flow. Anyone who understands this also understands why the company beats guidance year after year—and why the 2028 targets may still be too conservative.
The stock is not a bargain. But anyone who values Safran as a traditional industrial stock is making the same mistake as someone who values Microsoft based on its CD-ROM margin. #stockanalysis
Introduction
A young German-British company has taken a remarkable step: For the first time first time a prototype of a hypersonic rocket has been successfully successfully tested for Europe. And after just nine months of construction 😳 This test marks an important milestone in an area that has so far been dominated almost exclusively by major powers such as Russia, the USA and China.
_________________________
⚡️ 1st European hypersonic test flight successful 🚀
On February 3, 2026, the Munich-based startup Hypersonica launched its HS1 prototype from the Norwegian spaceport Andøya. According to the company:
Hypersonica has thus achieved an unprecedented success for a privately financed European armaments and aviation project in the hypersonic sector.
_________________________
🧪 2. why hypersonic missiles are relevant
Hypersonic missiles fly extremely fast (faster than Mach 5) and are traditionally difficult to intercept. This gives them:
Only a few countries still possess such technology - Russia and the USA have already developed or deployed their own systems. Europe has so far lacked a comparable, sovereign solution.
_________________________
🇪🇺 3. Europe wants to become more technologically independent
The background to the project is not only technical ambition, but also geopolitical strategy:
Hypersonica was only founded in 2023, is based in Munich and has a subsidiary in London. The CEO and co-founders emphasize that the technology has long been neglected and that faster development cycles are needed.
_________________________
🧠 4. technical & strategic challenges
Hypersonic missiles are not only fast, but also complex:
Hypersonica wants to address these challenges and carry out further tests and developments in the coming years.
_________________________
👍 5. significance for industry & research
Successful testing is not only a technological step, but can also
Competition and comparison: To date, the USA, Russia and China have also been working on their own hypersonic systems, which have significantly greater ranges. Europe's approach, however, is a fast, private development path, similar to the influence of companies like SpaceX on space development as a whole.

After years of turbulence, the global aviation industry is clearly picking up speed again. Passenger numbers are now almost at pre-crisis levels, but there is still a "pandemic gap" of around 30%, which is likely to be closed in the coming years. Forecasts predict annual passenger growth of 4-5% worldwide, and even up to 6% in Asia by 2044.
This will benefit manufacturers in particular, but also suppliers: $AIR (-1,42 %) , $SAF (-3,64 %) or $MTX (-3,6 %) MTU Aero Engines have full order books and stable margins.
For example, Airbus and $BA (-0,44 %) are considered structural winners in the industry due to their duopoly structures and the long-term visibility of their orders.
Airlines and airports, on the other hand, are much more volatile and are more dependent on the economy, energy prices and geopolitical developments.
👉 The complete analysis with detailed figures, market forecasts and company examples can be found in the verlinkten Artikel
Hello my dears,
and once again $MTX (-3,6 %) MTU is here again.
But I am pleased that $AVIO (-0,05 %) Avio has been included.
At the Paris Air Show, Avio Aero, Safran and MTU Aero Engines laid the foundations for a multinational team to develop the engine for the next-generation European helicopter. A new and purely European helicopter engine is to be developed in a long-term cooperation, according to the agreement, which was announced by the three companies involved on June 18. The European Next Generation Helicopter Engine (ENGHE) is intended for the next generation of military helicopters in Europe, which are due to enter service around 2040.
EURA joint venture
Safran and MTU had already announced their collaboration on a new helicopter engine in 2023. Last year, the two companies founded a 50/50 joint venture called EURA (European Military Rotorcraft Engine Alliance) to develop the engine (ESuT reported). Avio Aero will now contribute its know-how and expertise in the field of military helicopter engines.
With equal work shares, the three companies aim to create an engine that combines reliability in service with affordable operating and maintenance costs. According to MTU, the cooperation between the companies will form the core of an extended and long-term European partnership in which other European nations will also be involved.
Features of the ENGHE
The companies say that the ENGHE will feature groundbreaking technologies. They will significantly increase its efficiency while reducing operating and maintenance costs. Such an engine meets the requirements of future military helicopter projects such as ENGRT (European Next Generation Rotorcraft Technologies) and NGRC (Next Generation Rotorcraft Capability).
The exceptional characteristics of the ENGHE will give these future helicopters improved capabilities [compared to today's models], the companies said. These include, in particular, a greater range and higher speed as well as improved maneuverability and increased availability. This will be supported by the hybrid-electric configuration. In addition, the drive will have lower fuel consumption and be 100 percent compatible with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Objective
The next objective of the cooperation partners is a strong joint proposal in response to the European Defense Fund's specific call for tender for a next-generation helicopter engine. EURA will coordinate this proposal and submit it to the European Commission in October 2025.
