Final portfolio, at least up to 100-120k for now

Dear Community,

I’d like to present my portfolio once again.

The core of my portfolio is the $VWRL (+0,05%) which I contribute to monthly.

I also hold a few dividend-paying stocks such as $ALV (-0,4%)
$MCD (+0,51%)
$BMY (-1,12%) and $TTE (-2,46%) these stocks are my “dividend stocks”—to be honest, I don’t expect much in the way of returns from them, but they might still surprise me. As for $BMY (-1,12%) I’m not quite sure yet whether I should hold onto this stock or focus more on growth in the healthcare sector— $SYK (+1,59%) For example, looks interesting right now—it might even be my new employer in the future 😜.

Then I also have a bit of growth with dividends, though that’s not my main focus $TSM (+1,32%)
$AVGO (+2,13%)
$SU (+2,03%) and $8001 (-1,55%) Itochu is sort of a middle ground.

Last but not least, of course, $BTC (+0,26%) to cover crypto.

Once I’ve adjusted the positions under $MCD (+0,51%) the top holdings—with a target of about 5,000€ per stock for now and BTC at 3,000€—I plan to add new holdings in the form of $VST (+2,59%)
$XYL (+0,36%) and maybe again $RKLB (-2,84%) , though other holdings are of course possible until then.

Not a single one of those individual companies outperformed your ETF??

Past performance isn't an indicator of future results when it comes to investing, but...you can see that for yourself, right?

@Stullen-Portfolio Yeah, you're right about that, but if you compare how long I've held the ETF and when I bought the stocks, there's still potential there— $ALV was almost at the same level for a short while^^

By the way, your sales history also paints another clear picture for me—one I’d use as a starting point if I were seriously considering whether individual stocks are the right path... 🤷

@Stullen-Portfolio What would you personally do? To be honest, investing only in ETFs is too boring for me.
Since I want to use the dividends to cover some of my smaller fixed expenses over the long term, the dividend from my ETF is too small, which is why I’m adding a few dividend-paying stocks.

I think we’re on different sides of the fence. For example, I find myself wondering what the opposite of boredom is when it comes to investing, and whether, once you’ve reached the opposite of boredom, you’re actually satisfied 🤷.

I generally find the stock market and finance very interesting and exciting, and I listen to podcasts on the topic almost every day. However, my portfolio still consists of only a few holdings, and I invest through a savings plan. I’m very happy not to have to make any decisions on a daily basis.

I have zero interest in dividends. I cover smaller fixed expenses with my salary. For me, investments serve exclusively a long-term goal, and in that regard, I prefer to avoid taxes as much as possible and to pay them as late as possible. I just don’t get excited about a €200 dividend, since I know that paying out that €200 takes €250 away from my long-term goal...🤷

Since our mindsets and goals are quite different, I think it makes sense that our investments differ as well. My advice would be based on my fundamental approach and wouldn’t really help you become happier within your own “world”...

With BMY, I’d wait or just let it ride. There are several drugs in Phase 3 trials showing positive developments. That’s normal in the pharmaceutical sector, especially when patents are expiring. The same thing happened recently with $MRK, and it’s always the same pattern with these kinds of pharmaceutical stocks. Boom / Patent expires / Sell-off / New drugs / Boom 🔂
