How low can it go?

What are your trades for today?

The semiconductors were sold off brutally yesterday; the prices of, among others, $MU (+4,29%)
$ASML (+5,23%)
$NVDA (+3,8%)
$SNDK (+2,03%) are starting to look very attractive. It also seems that quite a few margin calls and stop-loss orders were triggered yesterday. What’s your take on this? Will the market return to more normal behavior today, or could it keep falling? In my opinion, the sell-off isn’t rational on this scale—but unfortunately, that doesn’t mean the selling won’t continue.

And if you’re looking to take action: which stocks have you got your eye on?

I'm going to let my savings plans continue for now. I've been on hold with individual tech stocks for a while now, except for Amazon… they have a more diversified portfolio. My motto: Stay calm and drink tea.

@Ichbinak63 To what extent is Amazon significantly more diversified than Google or Microsoft?

@Ichbinak63 Well, they still have their e-commerce/mail-order business, subscription business/media, advertising, and logistics hardware, which is being further expanded. That's just my opinion—everyone can see it as clearly as a roofer.

@Ichbinak63 I bought more shares of $GOOGL after the earnings report and entered some positions in $JPGL. I do understand the perspective on $AMZN, though—I’ve had it on my watchlist for a while now for those reasons. Personally, I’m currently eyeing $BELA and $8113 as individual stocks.

Relax. Stock prices will go back up. If not today, then tomorrow. Tech is and always will be the future.

That's a very good question. I'll wait until 2:00 p.m.—or a few days—to see if the prices stabilize.

@ScalpingSteve Yes, I'm concerned that it might be too early to get in, even though some of the P/E ratios are now better than those of defensive stocks.

That's always the dilemma: should I buy now, or should I wait a little longer?

I thought yesterday's prices were attractive. If they continue to drop sharply, I'll buy more.

@Augur The question is always whether investment in chips will remain this high … if not, the P/E ratio will rise very quickly again. Looking purely at P/E ratios, banks and insurers are currently undervalued, but they simply never reach P/E ratios of 100 like those in hype sectors …

My pick for today is a ground pork sandwich. To be honest, I'm actually kind of glad that some steam is finally being let off. It was long overdue. The only question is whether this small correction will turn into something bigger.

Sounds like a sure thing. So far, it looks a little like the storm has passed. But the day is still young, and who knows what Trump might come up with over the weekend.

@Augur It can always get worse 😆 There's still plenty of room to fall

Days when the market crashes are buying opportunities in the long run. It's just that most people buy when prices are rising rather than falling.

Buy in installments—trying to time the market perfectly is a gamble 🤑

Hi,
Quick question about your thoughts on $ASML:
Why do you want to buy in right now, of all times? To me, at its current level, the stock is a “hold” at best 🆗—and around the support level of €1,100 👻, it’s more of a candidate for selling. Do you see a specific factor driving the price right now that I’m not aware of?

@Smudeo I haven't looked into this stock in depth yet. However, it was one of the names that caught my eye. Due diligence would have followed. But after the sharp sell-off, I expected positive price movements in the short to medium term for all the positions mentioned.
