Billionaire activist investor Nelson Peltz is moving onto the board of consumer goods giant Unilever. Peltz, who holds a 1.5 per cent stake in Unilever, will become a member of the remuneration committee, the maker of Dove soap and Langnese ice cream announced on Tuesday.
The move is likely to increase pressure on Unilever to restructure the group after its £50 billion takeover of British pharmaceuticals group Glaxo-Smithkline fell through earlier this year.
