But: my gaze continues - long on Japan Tobacco. 🇯🇵

Today Japan Tobacco $2914 (+1,81%) will pay a dividend again today, strengthening my cash flow in the portfolio. For me, JT is one of those classic dividend payers that may not deliver huge growth every year, but pays a reliable and stable dividend.

Why I like the share:

✔️ Defensive business model - tobacco always runs (unfortunately).

✔️ Stable dividend policy.

✔️ Nice side effect: yen adds a bit of currency spice to the portfolio.

Sure, you can't forget risks such as regulation or falling smoking figures 🚭 - but as long as the cash is right, JT fits my dividend strategy.

Japan Tobacco $2914 (+1,81%)
re-enters the South Korean HTU market.

The Group withdrew from South Korea in 2021. The market is now controlled by $PM (+2,01%) and KT&G $033780 which have around 90% of the market share, with the remainder falling to $BATS (+2,03%) . Now JT wants to re-enter the market with ploom x (which will most likely also be the platform for $MO (+3,18%) in the USA) to re-enter the market.

This should be quite interesting as it will test brand loyalty. It is not yet clear whether loyalty to HTU products is as high as for cigarettes.

BAT $BATS (+2,03%) PM $PM (+2,01%) and JT $2914 (+1,81%) will have to pay a settlement of almost 24 billion US dollars in Canada.

I hope that all three will withdraw from the Canadian business.

$PM (+2,01%) After some time, there is some movement in the share price, partly due to a small sector rotation, but it seems that the market now believes PM more.

Significantly more expensive than $BATS (+2,03%) and also $2914 (+1,81%) do you see this as justified?

I'm still worried about the mountain of debt and I think the valuation is slowly stretching a bit too far.

Since there is no tobacco in my Etf I have made it easy and simply bought all tobacco stocks in my portfolio to a basket together😂. So $MO (+3,18%)

$IMB (+1,27%) ( all together about 7% share in the portfolio ) so I feel comfortable and I like to do in other areas so. Always small baskets and not just rely on a single share. Lets one sleep peacefully

Think with Mitsubishi $8058 (-0,56%) itouchu $8001 (+0,23%) and Japan Tobacco $2914 (+1,81%) I am on the right dividend track in the land of the rising sun.

Have now not directly found the country Japan. But currently I think that I first build positions in Japan as long as the EUR/USD so weakens. The exchange rate is quite okay and I have also found some interesting values. Japanese companies make most of their sales in the country, but the older population is a problem.

The now aging population also holds the chance that the automation is developed faster there maybe who knows a stock tip, because you can look at.

I myself currently have Altria and British American Tobacco (BAT) in my portfolio and soon Japan Tobacco will follow 🚬🔥

I like to invest in tobacco companies because they have a very high dividend payout and a good dividend growth p.a. 😍💸

I also believe that it will continue to go up consistently over the next few years 🚀

Of course, people in Western countries are smoking less and less, but smoking is becoming more and more popular in Asian countries every year ✅

I think it is morally justifiable to invest in tobacco companies 👌🏽

On the one hand, I am a smoker myself, and on the other hand, every person can choose whether to smoke and risk their life or not 😊✌🏽
