U.S. COURT OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE INVALIDATES PRESIDENT TRUMP'S TARIFFS UNDER THE IEEPA - THE PRESIDENT IS NOT AUTHORIZED TO IMPOSE TARIFFS UNILATERALLY.

US court blocks most Trump tariffs, says president exceeded his authority


In a sweeping new ruling, the U.S. Court of International Trade has just blocked President Trump's Liberation Day tariffs, saying that authority is with Congress.


FACT CHECK: While the Constitution grants Congress the power to impose tariffs, Congress delegated much of that power to the Executive Branch in the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, which allows for adjustments to tariff rates without needing Congressional action. Courts have given the executive branch broad authority to negotiate trade, that is until now.

I think there is a highly explosive atmosphere in America right now! Nobody knows what the psychopath Trump will do now and whether he will abide by the rulings! With his fanatical Trumpists behind him, the whole thing could now lead to civil war (yes, I know that sounds extreme, but Trump is now being backed into a corner and nobody knows how he will react)! I think the market in the USA will fall sharply for the time being...

Everyone has rejoiced too early again, as if there were only green depots today... Mine has slipped brutally into the red since 15:30 😂 I rather guess that the Dow will fall really brutally!

@Angstundbange I think the market is more likely to see opportunities to push ahead with tariffs in other forms, Trump has several options here and the last word has not yet been spoken. Let's see what happens .
