The current fall in the price of $PVH (+0.28%) is, in my view, a classic overreaction.
There are certainly headwinds: as a result of the difficult macroeconomic environment in Europe (EMEA), the company has lowered its sales guidance to "flat". However, the fact that the forecasts for the operating margin and EPS have nevertheless been confirmed is due to pending duty repayments (100 basis points margin / $1.70 EPS). Without this one-off effect, PVH would probably also have had to adjust here.
A negative share price reaction was therefore to be expected - but a drop of over 20% is excessive in my view. Here, an adjusted decline of around $80m was punished with a loss of over $1bn in enterprise value.
If there is no further negative news, the share should recover from this setback in the near future.
