IREN contractually secures a further 800 megawatts of grid connection for data centers... 🟢

Hello everyone,

My thesis that I have $IREN (-3,39%) as THE company in the portfolio with which I am betting on the "electricity" bottleneck is once again reinforced.

The latest action secures precisely this grid connection, which will become very valuable in the future...!

"IREN has today signed an agreement for an 800 megawatt power grid connection in Bundey, Australia. The new site will be one of the largest AI data center campuses in the Asia-Pacific region. This expansion drove IREN shares up by around 5% in pre-market US trading. The company secured investment-grade financing of 3.65 billion US dollars on June 1. This capital will flow directly into the provision of NVIDIA Blackwell chips for a major customer. The recent major Dell order and these new milestones are rapidly accelerating IREN's growth in the global AI market."

I also don't want to withhold the exciting, current quote from Jensen Huang from you:

"The amount of energy that we need for computing is likely [...] probably a thousand times more than we currently have. [...] If you say we need a thousand times [more], I wouldn't be surprised that we're off by a couple of orders of magnitude. And so we need a lot more compute, we need a lot more energy."

In other words: Energy requirements for data centers are estimated to increase by a factor of 1000X in the future...

With this in mind - best regards

Now you've saved me the work. I wanted to write a post about it tonight. If the data centers are built successfully, nothing stands in the way of expansion into Asia. At least that's what I think. If that's the case, an Irish share at €60 in 3/4 years will be a bargain.

So would you still buy at the current price or enter again?
In my case, the situation is as follows: I opened a position with you back then more for fun than anything else. I was also happy about the price gains and so on, the position is just so small that it doesn't really affect the portfolio, I have the option of doubling the position, would you do it?

@capital_captain_2693 if you stay invested for the long term, i.e. 5+ years, which can be very stressful with small caps, then it doesn't matter when you get in. I would leave it for a short trade.
