Hello everyone!

Since I admittedly don't have a good feel for individual stocks and I also trade too emotionally, I wanted to build up a pure ETF portfolio.

As I still want to trade "somewhat" actively, I have thought about using factor and sector ETFs.

So instead of like now $JNJ (+2,5 %) and $ABBV (+2,98 %) in the portfolio, I could also take a health ETF (IE00BM67HK77)

or a China ETF instead of $BABA (-0,73 %) and $700 (-0,14 %) (I don't have one in my portfolio).

What do you think of such a strategy if you want to have more calm in your portfolio? At the same time, the MSCi World is too one-sided in favor of the magnificant 7.

I will probably never beat the market, so this would be the better solution for me.

I look forward to constructive criticism from you.

Sector ETFs are not for me personally. As a rule, they don't offer much diversification, but have a higher TER than normal ETFs on large indices.

If you can't keep your fingers still, just look at 2-3 individual stocks that you buy in a separate portfolio. Intensive analysis, but still max. 10% of the portfolio. If you still don't manage to perform well with your individual stocks, it's at least not so bad for the overall performance.

You then only need to log into the ETF custody account to increase your savings plans after a salary increase 😉

There is quite a lot of self-knowledge in your post, which is great.
I personally think the conclusion to go for a combined ETF solution is great.

However, favoring individual STATES (with the exception of the USA) would not be my preference. Nor would individual SECTORS (with the exception of IT). Personally, I wouldn't bet on individual TOPICS under any circumstances.

I also combine various ETFs myself, each of which plays an individual role in my portfolio. In this way, I actually manage to consistently avoid individual stocks, because I also lack various skills for this.

Greetings
