Best and worst of 2024

My best Investment decisions in 2024:

My worst investment decisions in 2024:

  • Complete sale of Amazon $AMZN (+1.21%) at 154€ (today: 221€)
  • Complete sale of Meta $META (+2.3%) at €480 (today: €690)
  • Complete sale of Spotify $SPOT (+5.75%) at 300€ (today: 609€)
  • Complete sale of Lululemon $LULU at 249€ (today: 392€)
  • Complete sale of Airbnb $ABNB (+1.58%) at 106€ (today: 131€)

My lesson: Let your winners run and possibly trim 10-20% if the valuation temporarily gets out of control compared to the long-term potential.

What did you learn from 2024?

My biggest mistake was to sell the majority of my Palantir position $PLTR in the summer in order to redeploy the profits. I will be even more disciplined in future and try to touch my positions rarely or as good as not at all.

@B-B Can you explain why "leverage" was the problem?

@thewolfofallstreetz Unwissenheit 🥲

@B-B Are you no longer doing it at all or to a manageable extent that you could pay it back at any time?

I didn't let myself get carried away by the hype here at $NU, $HIMS and $PLTR

@Dividendenopi My dear, I think hype is still okay if there is something behind it based on the fundamental figures. And the valuation doesn't get out of hand due to the hype.

@Tenbagger2024 I was more referring to the fact that the lesson to be learned from this is to think about and research the community's suggestions more intensively outside of my own path and also to go for growth. And if I actually jokingly said at NU that I would get in at 11 and then still hadn't done it at under 10, then something like that has to be in my book and done in the same way as with Nvidia after 10 percent out 🤔🤷‍♂️ I vow to do better 🫃😇

@Dividendenopi NU you should also take a long-term view.

@Tenbagger2024 I don't know whether my investment horizon allows for something like this 😇🤷‍♂️😂

Sold Meta during the Ukraine crisis... got cold feet unfortunately. But bought AMZN at the time at 110$ / PLTR at 13$... my lesson - let profits run and limit losses moderately ... never sell completely unless the company is broke 😅
