Market still in the year-end rally? Do you have experience with short positions? ⤵️

Yesterday evening, we received the news that Mr. Burry had closed his short positions on the S&P500 and NASDAQ worth "$1.6 trillion" ( for the morning grouches here, I left the $1.6 trillion in English and quoted it from the CBNC image),has closed. He did this with "only" a 40% loss. Of course, you immediately read a lot of malice and insults on the net.

Personally, I think that selling positions at a loss is the most difficult thing to learn on the stock market. All you hear from many new investors is: "As soon as my position is back to 0, I'll sell it"! They don't dare to take the loss. They see this as failure. When playing poker (yes, I come from this scene, and I made a living from it for many years), I quickly learned that in the long run, you make the most money with "folds". You simply maneuver yourself into "stupid" hands too often and burn money. That adds up to a lot of money in the long run.

It's similar on the stock market. With sensible money management, you can get rid of losing positions in good time or keep a better eye on them and not let them run against you for no reason! It is therefore important to review your positions from time to time and, if necessary, accept losses. With M. Burry, of course, everyone is always happy to take a loss, as he is betting against us all.

Have you had any experience with short positions? Have you already bet on falling prices?

Please always be careful, especially if you do this with leverage certificates. Not all of us have the opportunity to go short directly on the share with our broker.

What actually happens there? You borrow the share and then sell it immediately. Now you hope that this share will continue to fall and then at some point you buy it back at a lower price and can then give it back. You then make a profit. But of course you still pay some fees for borrowing the shares. With many brokers, these are also covered again and again at the end of the trading day. So you can only go short intraday and the profit or loss at the end of the day is always there. So please take a close look and be careful. It is best to focus on the rising market. There are always plenty of opportunities there and it is easier for "beginners" to analyze.

The market currently looks very positive and seems to want to show its "good" side again at the end of the year. A lot of capital is flowing in again. Yesterday, some capital also flowed back into the stock market from the risky crypto market. But even in the crypto market, things still look good on a weekly basis. Above all $SOL
Solana has made considerable gains here. But also the $BTC
BTC and $ETH
ETH, have also performed very well. When the approvals for the crypto ETFs finally come, the party could start. The next BTC halving is also scheduled for 2024. It remains exciting!

Let's take a look at the entire trading day today. Above all, the figures from $ENR Siemens Energy. What will happen here now that the aid has been approved?

Please translate correctly, the Americans don't know billions. 1000 million = 1 trillion.

I've grown to hate comment sections on social media platforms... 18 comments arguing about a supposed mistake that isn't a mistake. And to the post: Mr. Burry's trades really shouldn't be worrying anyone anymore. The man apparently just got really lucky once and since then he's hit absolutely nothing 😅

Even if it should be known that the Americans do not have "billions", it can be misleading to translate the term "billions" into "trillions" in the German text. Because there are no "trillions" in English and in German trillions are a multiple of 1000 billion. Why not simply write 1.6 billion in the German text?

Please translate correctly when punctuating numbers. In German, the period marks the thousands places, the comma marks the decimal places. In English, the comma marks the thousands places, the period the decimal places. 😁

To claim "not translated" when it says BillionEN is also wrong BillionEN is the German term, untranslated would be " billion Dollar "
