Thursday:
U.S. Treasury yields reach new record highs, which also drives up yields in Germany, the U.K., and Japan. The level is now so high that it is weighing on other asset classes, such as stocks.
$NVDA (+1,19%) NVIDIA is now valued at a P/E ratio of just 18—the company hasn’t been this cheap since the 2010s. However, NVIDIA’s margins are so exorbitantly high that many market participants do not believe they can be sustained. Therefore, while the 18 P/E ratio appears cheap, it could rise significantly if margins were to fall sharply.
Friday:
$BAS (+0,69%) BASF is planning to acquire its competitor $EVK (+1,97%) Evonik. As is almost always the case with takeovers, the shares of the target company react very positively, while the buyer’s shares fall. So far, there has been no concrete offer, only initial contact with banks.
