$USB (+1,53%) It's one of my oldest stock investments in
portfolio—one that I’ve been buying regularly ever since my early days as a value investor.
US Bancorp is the seventh-largest bank in the U.S.. This bank is one you’d not not really keep an eye on it, because we usually focus on the big banks such as $JPM (-0,45%) , $BAC (+0,43%) , $C (+0,24%) or $WFC (+1,86%) are familiar with—and for good reason.
Back then, I liked USBancorp best because it offered me the perfect mix of solid financial figures, a secure and—at the time—high dividend yield of over 5% . Furthermore, USB is a massive U.S. bank with total assets currently standing at $692 billion. This heavyweight JPMorgan, on the other hand, has total assets of $4.6 trillion. There’s simply no comparison. This also highlights the enormous role played by competition among the largest U.S. banks … even though only the top 10.
Banks actually indirectly own nearly everything in the world. Or rather, they make money on every corner of the world, even if it’s just an overdraft because you’re running low on cash that month. It’s actually pretty outrageous.
Which banks do you have in your portfolio?
US Bancorp has been in my portfolio for over three years in my portfolio and, including net dividends , at over 61% . In my view, this is a reliable stock with a yield of over 5% dividend yield on my invested money.
That’s an acceptable rate of return if it holds up over the long term and the bank continues to increases. However, I no longer reinvest the dividends in USB but in other stocks, since I don’t want to maintain such a large position in it going forward.
I think I’ll grow old with this investment—until I eventually change my mind. 😜
Actually, I think anyone in the community holds USBancorp shares—or do they?
