6$6501 (-0,04%) Why has the price of many Japanese shares fallen by 80% today? I have already noticed 3 of them. Did they all have a split at the same time today?
It's that time again and the Japan season is open.
As of today, due to the time change from winter to summer, you can trade Japanese stocks with a lower spread between 8 - 9 am.

Since Japan has no daylight saving time, for us German investors it means that the stock exchange is open from 2:00 to 4:30 and 5:30 to 8:00 in the summer. In winter, it is one hour earlier, from 1:00 to 3:30 and from 4:30 to 7:00.
For domestic investors, this means that the traditional stock exchanges have no overlap with the Japanese stock market. But there is a gap: The LS Exchange and also Lang & Schwarz in over-the-counter trading start trading as early as 7:30 am. This means that we have a 30-minute overlap with Japan from 7:30 to 8:00. During this time, the broker knows the reference rates in Tokyo and offers correspondingly lower spreads. You can see this here with an example:
Hello everyone,
Today I would like to introduce you to my portfolio. As you probably know, it's just too much fun to expand my portfolio with new stocks. There are now a few too many, but I still can't really part with my worst-performing stocks ($NVM (-1,44%) , $ENPH (-6,08%) , $WAC (-3,11%) ). I'm hoping that I'll be able to sell them in positive territory at some point, or am I on the wrong track and in your opinion should I sell at a loss and try to make up the loss with other stocks?
I have been investing since the end of 2022 and at 29 years old, I still have a long time to go. My strategy is to be as desertified as possible in sectors and to beat the market in the long term (just let me believe that it works :D), hence so many individual stocks. I want to hold these for many years (esp. $AMZN (-0,02%) , $GOOGL (-0,6%) , $QCOM (-0,3%) , $MSFT (+0,15%) , $V (+1,22%) , $MC (-2,6%) , $SALM (-0,22%) ) but I'm also not too keen to pocket the profits. Are there any stocks in my portfolio that you would view critically for the next few years and would be worth considering selling? Recession and all that...
Priority is on growth, which is reasonably safe, so only a few small caps - but a few bets have to be in there :) ($AIDX (+13,73%) , $NRX (-0,45%) , $ITM (+1,02%) , $F3C (-1,36%) , $MITK (+1,97%) ). But with rather small amounts, probably too small or what do you say?
At the same time, I would also like to claim a €900 allowance via dividends ( $BATS (+0,49%) , $ENB (+0,61%) , $BNPQY , $STLAM (-3,56%) , $ENGI (-0,18%) , $RIO (-0,69%) ) and secure a trade or two.
Recently I have been investing 240€/m in the $XDWD (+0,78%) and between 200 - 500€/m in individual shares (depending on what is left). Actually, I want to increase the existing shares properly now, but somehow there are always nice entry options in solid companies like $0L2T (-2,61%) , $ZTS (+1,86%) , $ADM (+0,25%) , $PANW (+1,75%) , $ENR (+2,43%) . Help what to do? :D
And then there's also crypto $BTC (+0,5%)
$NEAR (+8,89%)
$ADA (+4,24%)
And Japan, they're doing well too $4063 (+1,07%) , $6501 (-0,04%) , $8001 (+0,85%)
Looking forward to your feedback and advice!
Potential subsequent purchases at $BRK.B (+1,54%) and first purchase at $6501 (-0,04%)

BASF ($BAS (-5,27%)) - After strong quarterly figures, BASF raises annual targets again. Thanks to good demand and higher prices, business is going well for the world's largest chemical company. Sales of between 76 and 78 billion euros are now expected. Operating earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) and special items are also expected to be between 7.5 and 8.0 billion euros. Compared with the same period last year, which was weak due to Corona, sales increased by 42 percent to 19.7 billion euros. BASF reported a profit of 1.25 billion euros. In the previous year, there had been a loss due to depreciation of 2.1 billion euros.
Deutsche Bank ($DBK (-2,66%)) - The quarterly figures were also positive in the third quarter and the bank was again able to report a profit. However, Deutsche Bank's quarterly profit of 329 million euros is well below that of its competitors. Santander ($BSD2 (-1,34%)) reported a profit of 2.2 billion and UBS ($UBRA (-1,95%)) even posted 2.3 billion euros.
Despite exceeding expectations, investors are disappointed, as revenue stagnated in almost all business areas except asset management, while competitors' results were clearly positive. As a result, the share price fell by around 5%.

USA - Will US banks soon be able to hold bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies? An inter-agency working group has been formed in the US to develop uniform guidelines that will specifically allow US banks to hold and trade cryptocurrencies. This was revealed in an interview with Jelena McWilliams, chairwoman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Company (FDIC). Furthermore, she specifically believes that banks should be allowed to hold cryptocurrencies and that the guidelines are mainly meant to protect banks and investors. She also stated that she is convinced that the new technology of cryptocurrencies must be brought to the banks, as otherwise this industry will develop on its own and regulatory intervention will thus hardly be possible anymore.
