"A bit of stagnation - and above all more inflation" is the title of the Bank of America economists' new forecast.
In such a scenario, companies with pricing power are in demand, i.e. those that can pass on rising costs to customers. These are companies that are already making good profits today and not in the too distant future. Their profits will not be greatly affected by higher interest rates. The companies must not be too cyclical; after all, they must also be able to withstand an economic slowdown.
The investment bank Goldman Sachs has compiled a list of 102 stocks that can still hold their own in a stagflation.
Analysts see the greatest price potential in commodity companies such as $MTDR (+2,81%)
Matador Resources, $CVE (+3,21%)
Cenovus Energy, $AA (+0%)
Alcoa and $DVN (+3,24%)
Devon Energy. The average price target for these stocks is around 40 percent above the current value. They are followed by tech companies such as $AMZN (+3,59%)
Amazon, $GOOGL (+3,98%)
Alphabet, $MSFT (+0,93%)
Microsoft, $META (+2,82%)
Meta and $ISRG (+0,24%)
Intuitive Surgical. The professionals put the potential here at at least 30 percent. This is followed by other commodities and media groups such as $SLB (+2,32%)
Schlumberger, $COP (+2,39%)
Conocophillips, $RIO (-0,1%)
Rio Tinto and $OXY (+2,02%)
Occidental Petroleum with a potential of between 25 and 30 percent.
Also $WMT (+0,17%)
Walmart is also on the list; analysts see a price potential of 27 percent for the retailer. For the conglomerate $DHR (+2,51%)
Danaher experts expect 25 percent and the railroad company $CNR (-0,14%)
Canadian National Railway is also at the top of the list.

Petrobras awards integrated services contract for all offshore fields in Brazil $PETR3 (+3,25%)
$PETR4 (+1,8%)
Following a tendering process, the energy technology company SLB $SLB (+2,32%) has been awarded a new contract with Petrobras to provide integrated services for all its offshore fields in Brazil.
SLB will oversee the construction of more than 100 deepwater wells, utilizing advanced drilling, cementing and drilling fluid technologies on up to nine ultra-deepwater rigs.
Services will be provided primarily in the Campos, Santos and Espírito Santo basins, as well as other Petrobras-operated fields, including exploratory wells.
Work is also planned in the Equatorial Margin, subject to the approval of exploration licenses within the three-year contract period starting in April 2025.
"This contract builds on our previous work with Petrobras in all offshore basins and introduces new technologies that improve both operational and environmental efficiency," said Wallace Pescarini, President of the Offshore Atlantic Basin at SLB.
Technologies to be deployed under the contract include transitional technologies such as SLB's Ora intelligent wireline formation testing platform and SpectraSphere fluid mapping-while-drilling service.
The Ora platform enables real-time reservoir characterization, while SpectraSphere is used for pressure measurements, downhole fluid analysis and sampling while drilling.

Netflix ($NFLX (-0,38%)) - The streaming pioneer Netflix had to accept heavy losses yesterday. After-hours, the stock fell up to - 20%. The reason was the disappointing user growth in the quarterly figures reported yesterday. At first glance, the figures did not look bad, as earnings were above expectations and revenue was in line with expectations. However, for the streaming service, the most important metric is user growth, Netflix only recorded 8.3 million new subscribers in Q4 2021 instead of the predicted 8.5 million. The outlook was also disappointing, with user growth of just 2.5 million in the first quarter of 2022.
Zalando ($ZAL (-0,66%)) - DAX 40 company Zalando wants to launch a share buyback program worth 200 million euros. In total, up to 2.2 million own shares are to be repurchased. The purchased shares are to be used mainly for stock option programs for employees and members of the Management Board.
