Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has said that his country - and southern Europe more broadly - could provide a response to the shortage of gas supplies from Russia.

Like most of its competitors, the home-sharing titan is shifting its focus to overseas business in China. Google, Facebook, Twitter and Co. may not offer services to Chinese consumers, but they are important advertising channels for the country's booming export-oriented e-commerce players. The American company had high hopes when it entered China in 2016. It was once a popular choice for foreign tourists and Western-educated Chinese traveling the country. But that demographic is now in the minority. Over the years, Airbnb has faced increasing competition from domestic rivals like Tujia, which is backed by its own investor, and has seen several leadership changes at the top.

Bolsonaro also called for the election of a new board of directors, the state-controlled company announced shortly before midnight local time on Monday, clearing the way for a major management shakeup.
