August marked the end of the most successful month for my total net worth since I started tracking it in 2018—all in all, a gain of over +12%! 😊. To be fair, the last few months have been turbulent, which is why I still haven’t reached a new ATH overall, but I’m happy about it anyway! 👍🏼

Portfolio overview:

👉🏻 August:

Starting value: 1,270,244 euros + 16.65 cash

End: 1,477,964 euros + 70 cash

Deposit: 1,300 euros

Profit: +206,473.35 euros (+16.25%)

It comes as no surprise that the positive performance is attributable to the very strong performance of the gold and silver stocks in my portfolio. Easing concerns about potential interest rate hikes in the U.S. led to a small rally in gold, silver, and mining stocks... at least until last Friday. Although Warsh threw a wrench in the works with his speech, I remain fundamentally optimistic. The overall situation has not changed... Therefore, I am sticking with my investments $KNT (+0,72 %) (K92 Mining), $EQX (+2,11 %) (Equinox Gold), and $SCZ (+1,98 %) (Santacruz Silver Mining). 👍🏼

Other than that, not much has happened with individual stocks. Only $PYPL (+0,2 %) (PayPal) has once again been making headlines. By now, everyone has surely heard that Stripe’s takeover bid is now definitively off the table. Of course, that didn’t do the stock any favors, but personally, I believe that was the better decision for (us) shareholders in the long run. Especially after the strong quarterly results we saw recently, the offer really was a joke. We’ll see how things play out, but I’m optimistic here as well! 😊

Otherwise, I’ve decided to restructure my asset allocation and my portfolio for the medium term. The reason is that I want to get things in shape for a potential “Barista-FIRE” over the next 5 years. Right now, about 1/5 of my assets are invested in fixed-term deposits, which, in the end, is far too much for me and doesn’t perform well enough.

My goal for the future:

👉🏻 Call money: 50,000 euros

👉🏻 Brokerage account: The rest

In the future, three-quarters of the portfolio should consist of the $VWRL (+0,31 %) (FTSE All-World) and one-quarter in individual stocks. Currently, that would mean about 1.5 million euros in the ETF and 400,000 euros in individual stocks. This way, I’m not completely giving up the fun of investing in individual stocks, while also adding stability to my portfolio. Of course, this isn’t a restructuring that will happen overnight, but I’ll be working on it over the next 2–3 years. I’ll definitely keep you updated here on how things are going! 🚧

Well, let’s see what September has in store for us tomorrow!

Here’s to successful stock market trades! 😊

Is a supercycle currently forming in the commodities market? At the very least, a look at the price trends of numerous commodities and the fact that the globally planned energy transition will create an enormous demand for a wide variety of raw materials suggests this is the case.

The planned energy transition has the potential to trigger a sustained positive price cycle for commodities. Replacing fossil fuels with alternative energy sources requires additional infrastructure, transportation, power generation, and much more. Demand for copper, for example, is likely to continue rising, while supply is already struggling to keep up.

Digitalization, the energy transition, and geopolitical arms races are sustainably multiplying demand for raw materials.

We like to tell ourselves that we live in an age of weightlessness: data instead of steel, software instead of mines, platforms instead of pipelines. That sounds like progress and is an intellectual shortcut, because every digital business model ultimately boils down to something very tangible: transformers, copper for power lines, silver contacts, uranium fuel rods, rare earth elements—and the demand for these physical materials is currently multiplying.

Artificial intelligence requires data centers, and those require energy. Energy requires raw materials. The new commodities supercycle is not a nostalgic comeback of the industrial economy or a short-term investment trend. It is the material foundation of a world that is simultaneously digitizing and rearming. Those who ignore this are investing in narratives. Those who understand it are investing in the material reality of power.

Raw material demand and military spending are rising in parallel

At the same time, global military spending has risen to over two trillion dollars per year. It is no coincidence that these two developments are occurring simultaneously.

Modern weaponry is resource-intensive; fighter jets contain tons of aluminum, titanium, and special alloys. Precision weapons and radar systems require rare earth elements, high-performance electronics rely on silver contacts, and military communications are based on complex semiconductor technology.

• Anyone who wants to possess the best and most weapons needs raw materials.
• Anyone who doesn’t want to fall behind in AI needs raw materials.
• Anyone who wants to build the best humanoid robots—and thus have the best army in the future—needs raw materials.
• Anyone who wants to achieve the highest productivity through automation needs raw materials.

When countries ramp up their military capabilities, it’s not just the budget that increases. The demand for strategic materials also rises. This is precisely where the political implications become concrete. Under the Orange Man administration, critical minerals were officially classified as strategically important resources. An executive order defined a list of “critical minerals,” which includes not only rare earth elements but also silver, uranium, and numerous other materials.

Government-Anchored Raw Materials Policy

The goal was to reduce dependence on China and to strengthen domestic production and strategic reserves. This is not a footnote, but a government-anchored raw materials policy. When a government officially classifies certain metals as security-relevant, they are no longer merely commodities but become part of the national security architecture.

China dominates large parts of the rare earth processing industry. These materials are essential for high-tech industries and military systems. Those who think strategically think in terms of supply chains. The question of whether geopolitical interests also revolve around raw materials is not speculation. It is a sober analysis of power.

How Rising Demand for Raw Materials Drives Up Costs Across the Entire System

The key factor is not just rising demand; it is the nonlinearity. Demand can grow rapidly, but supply cannot, because mining takes years. Permits take time. Political risks delay projects. At the same time, nations, tech companies, and the military are competing for the same materials.

To cut a long story short ... after this month, the path to financial freedom has come a little further. In fact, this month was the worst month of my stock market career so far, both in absolute and relative terms. Not nice, but it happens. The reasons for this are the Iran war and the associated turbulence on the commodities market (especially gold and silver), where the lion's share of my investments are held.

But let's take a look at the figures!

👉🏻 March:

Start: 1,559,460 euros + 300 cash

End: 1,330,246 euros + 9,843 cash

Deposit: 16,250 euros

Profit: - 235.921 Euro (-14.4%)

These are of course unpleasant figures, but on the plus side: 90% of the decline is due to the price losses of my two largest positions (K92 Mining and New Equinox). In the course of the 15% fall in the gold price, both stocks lost a good 30% each and this had a particularly negative impact due to their high weighting.

At its peak, my portfolio even lost almost 500,000 euros within a few days/weeks. That makes you a bit nervous. Fortunately, however, it has already recovered significantly from the lows and is also up YTD. So all is well... 👍🏼

I remain optimistic in the medium term. With the Iran war, geopolitical uncertainties have increased further and inflationary pressure will rise. Even if interest rates are raised, I am sure that real interest rates will continue to fall, which will tend to be good for gold. But let's see... If history repeats itself from the mid-70s, we are in for golden times 😉

Otherwise, I naturally took the opportunity to increase my positions in $KNT (+0,72 %)
$EQX (+2,11 %) and $SCZ (+1,98 %) expand my positions. At the same time, turbulent market times naturally also offer opportunities to take profits. I have liquidated my entire position at $OXY (-0,41 %) was liquidated. The past dividends have resulted in a nice profit there (thanks to the rise in oil prices). Otherwise, smaller profits were taken (e.g. $TUI1 (+1,05 %) etc.), but these were not really worth mentioning...

As things stand now, we have just under 16,000 euros in realized capital gains and 2,000 euros in dividends received. You can build on that... I am now waiting patiently for the recovery! 👍🏼

➡️🆓: On my way towards 4 million total assets, the target achievement rate is now 43.7%.

Here's to good stock market trading and Happy Easter to you all! 😊

PS: Since I'm a little late, the current portfolio value does not match the one from March 31 (it has recovered a bit since then - fortunately)

Hello my dears,

Many of you will probably be thinking now.

"how boring, yet another gold mine, and he only recently joined K92 $KNT (+0,72 %) "

Those of you should definitely read on to the end. I don't find this mine boring at all.

Once again, I got into K92 a little too early. But who would have thought that 🍊would want to wage a long war before the elections and drive up inflation at the same time. This man is simply unpredictable. But good for us investors, because he always drives share prices down.

I was thinking of buying into K92. But then I had this thought.

"Even with gold mines, it can't be bad to diversify"

And since I had already been looking at other commodities over the last few days anyway. I also came across antimony too. Which led me to an exciting gold mine. Which still has a few boosters.

• GAMECHANGER

• TURBO

Awakening synergies through the merger.

My dears,

I have now found an exciting gold mine. I think that some of the valuation has not yet been priced in.

Do you find this gold mine just as exciting?

That still begs the question.

Is now the right time to invest in gold mines or gold?

(I look forward to many comments from you)

Despite the escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, the price of gold is currently relatively weak.

Instead of benefiting from the uncertainty, the yellow precious metal has even trended slightly downwards since the outbreak of the Iran war. This is unusual for many market observers, as gold is traditionally seen as a safe haven in times of crisis. However, the current trend suggests that other factors are dominating the market - at least in the short term.

Nevertheless, I remain optimistic. In my opinion, the markets are currently in a transitional phase in which short-term liquidity requirements and capital shifts are depressing the price.

Structural factors such as rising government debt, ongoing inflationary trends and geopolitical uncertainties should continue to provide a strong foundation for higher gold prices. In my view, the increasing skepticism towards fiat currencies and the role of gold as a store of value in particular speak for a long-term bullish scenario.

Institutional investors and central banks continue to show interest in gold. Especially in a world in which geopolitical power shifts and economic uncertainties are increasing, gold is likely to gain in importance as a strategic reserve. For me, short-term setbacks should therefore be seen as technical corrections rather than trend breaks.

Alkane is a gold and antimony producer

with activities in Australia and Sweden

Alkane is an Australia-based commodities group with interests in gold, antimony and copper

They have production facilities and major projects in Australia and Sweden, following the company's merger with Mandalay Resources.

The wholly owned operations include Tomingley Gold Operationsan open pit and underground gold mine southwest of Dubbo in central western New South Wales, the Costerfield-Gold- and antimony underground mine north-east of Heathcote in central Victoria and the underground gold mine Björkdal northwest of Skellefteå in Sweden (around 750 km north of Stockholm).

They also own the Boda-Kaiser-Projektwhich is based on a large gold-copper porphyry system at Mietskassern north of Wellington in central western New South Wales.

Alkane supports ongoing regional exploration near mines to increase the resources at each of their sites. It also owns several very attractive gold and copper assets in Central West New South Wales, including those belonging to the Northern Molong Porphyry Project (NMPP).

Alkane is headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. The company was founded in 1969 and merged with Canadian-based Mandalay Resources in August 2025. Alkane is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX:ALK) and the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX:ALK).

Alkane and Mandalay complete transformative merger

Published: 21:03 05 Aug 2025

The fusion between Alkane Resources Ltd (ASX:ALK, OTC:ALKEF) and Mandalay Resources Corp. (TSX:MND, OTCQB:MNDJF) has been completed, creating a dual listed gold and antimony producer with a diversified asset base in Australia and Sweden.

The newly combined company, named Alkane Resources Limited, holds three capital generating assets - Costerfield (Victoria), Tomingley (New South Wales) and Björkdal (Sweden) - with forecast gold equivalent production of 160,000 ounces in the 2025 financial year, increasing to over 180,000 ounces by 2026.

The Company is supported by a solid pro-forma liquidity position of 218 million Australian dollars and is well positioned for sustainable growth and valuation.

"This merger represents a significant step forward for both companies. By combining our complementary portfolios, we have created a stronger, more resilient platform that provides the scale and financial flexibility to pursue long-term growth. I look forward to welcoming our new shareholders and the Mandalay team as we move forward together, with a focus on sustainable production and long-term value creation," said Alkane CEO and Managing Director Nic Earner.

Australia's potential copper jewel: How Alkane Recources plans to capitalize on the AI mega-thirst.

1. explosion in copper demand due to AI data centers

The West recognizes that:

• AI data centers
• Electromobility
• power grid expansion

a massive hunger for copper for copper. Without copper, the energy transition and the AI infrastructure cannot be realized.

2. turning away from China and Russia

→ Copper projects in Australia gain strategic importance as a result.

3 Alkane Resources as a "potential copper jewel"

The text hints at this:

• Alkane owns a large copper-gold porphyry project (Boda-Kaiser).
• This project could take Alkane to a new order of magnitude scale.
• For this, however, the company needs financially strong partnersto manage the development.
• Boda-Kaiser is developing into a potential long-term gold-copper bulk project

Boda-Kaiser – Alkane-Ressourcen

4. financing requirements as a key issue

• The project is hugebut expensive.
• Alkane cannot alone develop it alone.
• Strategic partners (e.g. large copper producers) would be necessary.

5 Strategic classification

• Gold producer today
• Copper developer for tomorrow
• Profiteer of the AI megatrendas soon as Boda-Kaiser goes into production

The tenor: If Alkane manages to secure financing, the project could become a real gamechanger.

6.🧨 What role does antimony play as a game changer for Alkane?

Antimony is the hidden jokerthat can lift alkanes into a completely different league - for three reasons:

Antimony is a critical raw material of the West

While copper is a "bulk metal", antimony is a strategic metal:

• military alloys
• fire retardants
• semiconductors
• Batteries for stationary energy storage
• High temperature electronics

The USA and EU include antimony on the list of of critical raw materialsbecause the supply is extremely uncertain.

👉 Costerfield is one of the very few western antimony mines. This makes alkanes geopolitically more valuable than the proportion of sales would suggest.

7 China dominates antimony - and the West is looking for alternatives

The article emphasizes the turning away from Chinese supply chains in the raw materials sector .

This is important for copper. For antimony it is existential:

• China controls 80-90% of global Sb processing
• Russia is also a major producer
• The West has hardly any sources of its own

👉 This automatically makes alkanes a strategic supplier.

This is a value that is often underestimated in traditional valuation models.

8. antimony can help Alkane to finance Boda-Kaiser

The article clearly states: Alkane needs financially strong partners for copper project .

This is where antimony comes into play:

✔ Stable cash flows from Costerfield

Even though the share of sales is small, Sb:

• high margins
• predictable cash flows
• Geopolitical relevance

✔ Strategic leverage in negotiations

A company that supplies a critical raw material has

• better access to extraction programs
• better chances of receiving government support
• more attractiveness for large partners (e.g. US or EU companies)

👉 Antimony strengthens Alkane's position to be able to realize Boda-Kaiser at all.

9. Antimony is an "asymmetric" gamechanger

Copper is the big lever for the future. But antimony is the asymmetric lever:

• If the Sb price rises (e.g. due to geopolitical tensions), → cash flow explodes immediately.
• If the West hedges its supply chains, → Alkane suddenly becomes systemically relevant.
• If Boda-Kaiser is looking for partners, → Alkane is more attractive as a pure gold producer.

👉 Copper is the game changer for the future.
Antimony is the gamechanger for strategic positioning today.

My dears,

what do you think

Hello my dears,

what would be your theory why the gold price is falling today?

In my opinion, it could be related to the rising oil price, which is causing inflation to rise.

that means:

Uncertainty about Fed monetary policy Market participants are unsure whether the US Federal Reserve will really ease further. Rising or less sharply falling interest rates make gold less attractive.

I was able to make a few reflections while cycling today. And the fresh air put me in a buying mood.

And what does all this have to do with the price of gold?

Maybe because the sun gave me golden thoughts. Like :

How great the K92 numbers were, and on today's sunny day it might be a nice thing to use today's DIP to buy a small tranche.

My dears, what do you think of my purchase?

Maybe riding a road bike in the sun is my 🔮.

K92 Mining owns the high-grade, low-cost Kainantu gold mine in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea. The mine is located on an approximately 830 km² property in a Tier 1 region and has undergone significant expansions. The Stage 2 expansion (Q3 2020) doubled throughput to 400 ktpa, followed by Stage 2A (Q2 2023) which increased capacity by 25% to 500 ktpa (now capable of >600 ktpa). In December 2022, K92 approved its largest expansions - Stages 3 and 4 to 1.2 mtpa and 1.8 mtpa respectively. The updated Definitive Feasibility Study of October 2024 envisages production of over 300 koz AuEq per annum at a low AISC of US$920/oz for Stage 3. The Stage 4 expansion is targeting over 400 koz AuEq per year. Construction of the Stage 3 process plant is complete and was completed under budget, with first production in October 2025. The official inauguration of the plant shortly thereafter marked a major operational milestone for K92. Drilling continues apace, with up to 12 rigs targeting further growth.

Kainantu mine

K92 Mining is focused on the operation and expansion of the Kainantu Gold Mine, located in the Eastern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea. Since acquiring the project from Barrick Gold in 2014 and restarting in late 2016, K92 has turned Kainantu into a fast-growing producer and mineral resource company. Production has also been low cost, which is testament to the high grade, continuity, solid thickness, geotechnical and metallurgical characteristics of the deposit. The transformation was driven by a series of discoveries in the nearby infrastructure.

In terms of my portfolio performance/volatility, the last few weeks have probably been the craziest weeks since I started investing. Within a week, my portfolio lost over 100,000 euros in value during the precious metals crash only to gain back over 200,000 euros in value in the subsequent recovery by the end of February.

As a result, I reached a new milestone at the end of February. For the first time, the portfolio value exceeded the EUR 1.5 million mark. 😊

👉🏻 February:

Start: 1,368,240 euros + 100 cash

End: 1,559,4604 euros + 300 cash

Deposit: 5,400 euros

Profit: +186,020 euros (+13.59%)

The increase in value is mainly due to the good performance of my gold portfolio stocks (K92 Mining $KNT (+0,72 %) and Equinox Gold $EQX (+2,11 %) ). In the meantime, the gold price has slowly risen again and this is of course also reflected in the share prices. The two companies together now account for over 50% of my portfolio... This is actually an unreasonable ratio, but I am still convinced that there is still a lot of potential here. Both companies are in a great operational position, are debt-free and have even announced small dividend payments as a reward. 👍🏼

Otherwise, I continued to sell and buy here and there in February. I took profits on Puma $PUM (+0,78 %) , Vonovia $VNA (+0,63 %) , Henkel $HEN3 (+1,28 %) , K+S $KSC , Target $TGT (+0,07 %) and Western Union $WU (-0,44 %) while I increased my position in SAP $SAP (+0,69 %) , PayPal $PYPL (+0,2 %) and Novo-Nordisk $NOVO B (-0,65 %) further expanded.

The Iran war will certainly cause some turbulence on the stock market in the coming days. Experience shows that precious metals will benefit in times of uncertainty, but the oil price is also likely to receive a significant tailwind. With my high exposure to gold and my position in Occidental Petroleum $OXY (-0,41 %) I believe I am well positioned, at least in the short term. 👍🏼

➡️🆓: On my way towards 4 million total assets, the target achievement level is now 49.8%.

Here's to good stock market trading and see you in a few days! 😊

First things first. I hope you all had a peaceful Christmas season and were able to spend a few lovely days with family and friends! 😊

Even though December isn't quite over yet, I'd like to give you a quick update on the past month before the new year and take a brief look at the performance since I started at getquin in September.

👉🏻 December:

Start: 1,253,497 euros + 19,000 cash

End: 1,336,908 euros + 400 cash

Deposit: 3,000 euros

Profit: +61,811 euros (+4.86%)

As in previous months, the portfolio benefited from the continued strength of gold in December. The overweight in K92 Mining ($KNT (+0,72 %)), Equinox Gold ($EQX (+2,11 %) ), B2Gold ($BTO (+3,85 %) ) and, more recently, Euro Sun Mining ($ESM (+3,11 %) ) has contributed significantly to the good performance. My sale of SantaCruz Silver ($SCZ) (+1,98 %) in November, on the other hand, unfortunately proved to be an expensive mistake. I lost 50% of my profit, but as you know, you're always smarter afterwards and who could have guessed that silver would go through the roof like this.

Otherwise, not much has changed in my portfolio. I have now fully reinvested the 19,000 euros in cash. Among other things, I have taken an initial position in Vonovia ($VNA (+0,63 %) ) and Zalando ($ZAL (+2,97 %) ). I have also added some Ubisoft ($UBI (+3,01 %) ) and Fuchs Petrolub ($FPE (+0,92 %) ). I only took profits on Puma ($PUM (+0,78 %) ) and significantly reduced my position here when the share price was driven up again by takeover rumors.

As already mentioned, an extremely successful stock market year 2025 comes to an end tomorrow. The performance alone since I started with getquin in September has left me surprised. I wish every year was like this, but ... well. It will probably remain a pipe dream, but I'm all the happier for it! 😊

👉🏻 September - December:

Start: 1,022,339 euros

End: 1,336,908 euros + 400 cash

Return (adjusted): +235,305 euros (+21.39%)

A large part of the performance is of course due to (mainly unrealized) price gains, especially in my two largest positions (K92 Mining and Equinox), which now have a very high impact on the overall performance due to their size. However, other trades have also played their part. For 2025 as a whole, I expect to generate around EUR 115,000 in realized capital gains. Of this, around EUR 20,000 is attributable to dividends received, EUR 20,000 to trading profits with K92 Mining and other various gold/silver mines and around EUR 75,000 to the remaining shares (e.g. Alibaba, Xiaomi, Volkswagen, Porsche, 1&1, Ceconomy, etc.), to name just a few.

I am aware that the main ingredient for such a performance is luck (or inside information). Since I don't have the latter, let's agree on luck... 😉

For this reason, I am setting my targets for 2026 correspondingly lower. My main goal is always to receive around 5% of my assets in the form of investment income. Based on today's values, this would mean a range of 70,000 - 90,000 euros. I no longer set myself a target for my total assets. Although my salary can be planned, it is of secondary importance in the overall picture and, as we all know, you can't plan for price gains on the stock market... 👍🏼

➡️🆓: On my way towards 4 million total assets, the target achievement rate is now 44%. 😊

So, enough chatter. I wish you all a happy new year, happiness, satisfaction, health and, of course, success on the stock market in 2026! 🍀

Enjoy the quiet time! I'm off for 3 weeks in the sun and then I'll see you again at the end of January!

See you in a few days! 😊

Hello my dears,

The statement from COPILOT was.

" Stock up on raw materials "

So today I took a deep dive into the world of mines and commodities.

Anyone who knows me knows that as a long-term investor I tend to look at quality and longevity.

That's why I looked at the shares according to three different criteria

• Long-term historical performance
• Forward P/E ratio
• Earnings growth 2027 (I think investors will be interested in this next year)

I have marked these points YELLOW to find favorites.

I am still in the discovery phase for copper.

My dears,

What do you think of my selection process and my favorites? And what are your favorites in this sector?

@Multibagger
@Dividendenopi

(P.S. since it is very difficult to present the figures here at getquin in a reasonable way, I have done this for you today in a Word Doc. Hope you can read it well)

Eldorado Gold $ELD (+2,43 %) Low P/E ratio with high earnings growth
