1. BMW invests one billion in plant
BMW is making an estimated one billion euro investment in its Steyr, Austria engine factory. Accordiung to the Munich-based automaker´s Monday announcement, the funds would be used to outfit the facility for the development and production of electric drives by 2030. Parts for electric cars will be manufactured at the plant starting in 2025, according to chief production officer Milan Nedeljovic.
Alexander Susanek, the plant manager, emphasized that a manufacturing capacity of 600,000 automobiles annually is envisaged. Then, half of the 4,400 total employees will work in the electromobility sector.

2. Lufthansa considers return of Airbus A380
Lufthansa is considering a return of its mothballed Airbus A380 giant jets in view of strong ticket demand. As recently as April, Spohr had declared that the A380 no longer had a future within the group. At that time, the world´s largest passenger aircraft fleet contained 14 Lufthansa planes. The management had already made the decision before the corona pandemic to return six of the aircraft to Airbus. Due to the negative effects of the pandemic on business, the Group decided to withdraw the remaining aircraft from service.

3. Solend tries to get control of ´whale´ account
Decentralised financial platform are going to extreme lengths to limit the impact of a cryptocurrency sell-off. Solend, a lending platform built on the Solana blockchain, attempted to gain control of its largets account, a so-called ´whale´ investor, which it claims could significantly influence market movements. Solend users have since voted to block this move.
