Another large European non-food discounter is the Pepco Group ($PCO), which owns the Poundland, Pepco and Dealz brands.
Dealz is mainly active in Poland, Ireland and Spain. Poundland is active in the UK and Ireland. Pepco is the largest chain with over 3000 stores in 17 European countries.
72% of the Pepco Group is owned by the South African Ibex Topco B.V.. The Pepco Group itself is also listed and can be traded on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. In 2023, the Pepco Group generated €5.6 billion in revenue and €753 million in profit before tax.
The chain that many people are probably also familiar with is the Flying Tiger Group. Until recently, the group was owned by the private equity company EQT ($EQT (-0.58%) ). However, they have sold all their shares to the Danish investor Treville, which is not listed on the stock exchange.
