9Petrobras awards integrated services contract for all offshore fields in Brazil $PETR3 (+0.46%)
$PETR4 (+1.21%)
Following a tendering process, the energy technology company SLB $SLB (-0.89%) has been awarded a new contract with Petrobras to provide integrated services for all its offshore fields in Brazil.
SLB will oversee the construction of more than 100 deepwater wells, utilizing advanced drilling, cementing and drilling fluid technologies on up to nine ultra-deepwater rigs.
Services will be provided primarily in the Campos, Santos and Espรญrito Santo basins, as well as other Petrobras-operated fields, including exploratory wells.
Work is also planned in the Equatorial Margin, subject to the approval of exploration licenses within the three-year contract period starting in April 2025.
"This contract builds on our previous work with Petrobras in all offshore basins and introduces new technologies that improve both operational and environmental efficiency," said Wallace Pescarini, President of the Offshore Atlantic Basin at SLB.
Technologies to be deployed under the contract include transitional technologies such as SLB's Ora intelligent wireline formation testing platform and SpectraSphere fluid mapping-while-drilling service.
The Ora platform enables real-time reservoir characterization, while SpectraSphere is used for pressure measurements, downhole fluid analysis and sampling while drilling.

Netflix ($NFLX (+0.58%)) - The streaming pioneer Netflix had to accept heavy losses yesterday. After-hours, the stock fell up to - 20%. The reason was the disappointing user growth in the quarterly figures reported yesterday. At first glance, the figures did not look bad, as earnings were above expectations and revenue was in line with expectations. However, for the streaming service, the most important metric is user growth, Netflix only recorded 8.3 million new subscribers in Q4 2021 instead of the predicted 8.5 million. The outlook was also disappointing, with user growth of just 2.5 million in the first quarter of 2022.
Zalando ($ZAL (+0.87%)) - DAX 40 company Zalando wants to launch a share buyback program worth 200 million euros. In total, up to 2.2 million own shares are to be repurchased. The purchased shares are to be used mainly for stock option programs for employees and members of the Management Board.

Dax ($GDAXI) - The Dax is again in the wake of Omikron and the 15,000 mark is in sight. There is no recovery in sight for the German stock market as the Omikron mutation continues to unsettle investors. Asian markets had already reacted to the warning from Moderna ($MRNA (-4.05%)) chief, Stephane Bancel, and drove the stock markets into the red. According to Bancel, current vaccines are less effective against the new COVID-19 mutation.
BioNTech ($BNTX (+1.88%)) - Mainz-based vaccine manufacturer BioNTech is bringing forward a shipment of 2.9 million vaccine doses to Germany in response to strong demand for vaccines. In Germany, more than 20 million booster vaccinations are targeted by the end of the year. The share price of the pharmaceutical company rose in the meantime to 323.95 euros.

Softbank ($SFT (+0.97%)) - According to insiders, Japanese technology investor Softbank is negotiating with German company United Robotics to buy the French robotics business centered around the humanoid robot Pepper. The Bochum-based company United Robotics already works with Softbank and distributes its Pepper and Nao robots in Europe. There was no official comment from either company on the takeover rumors.
Evergrande ($EV1 (+8.23%)) - Shortly before the deadline, the Chinese real estate group Evergrande was able to make a multi-million dollar interest payment. It was transferred 83.5 million U.S. dollars to the bondholders. As a result, the share price rose by more than seven percent in the meantime. So far, the shares have lost more than 80 percent of their value in 2021. But further interest payments are also due soon. On October 29, the next grace period for a bond expires. To be able to pay banks, suppliers and bondholders on time, Evergrande must therefore continue to raise money.

ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF Update - The ETF is so extremely popular that there is now a risk that it is well on its way to hitting the existing futures limit. One way to counter this bottleneck would be to extend the investment contracts. However, in doing so, there is a risk that the fund will be too different from the actual bitcoin price and will no longer track it one-to-one. The ETF created by ProShares was the first fund ever to exceed $1 billion in assets under management in just two days.
Solana ($SOL/EUR (-1.87%)) - One of the strongest gainers in recent days was once again the Solana blockchain cryptocurrency SOL. After growing 36.8% in the last seven days, SOL's current price is $205.28, resulting in a market cap of $61.56 billion. SOL thus overtakes Ripple XRP ($21XX (-2.54%)) and ranks sixth among the world's largest cryptocurrencies. One of the main reasons for SOL's strong growth is likely the booming DeFi (Decentralized Finance) sector of the Solana blockchain. Solana differs from other blockchains, such as Ethereum or the Binance smartchain, by its incredible speed and extremely low transaction fees.
