A Look Back at August 2026

Hey,

I already mentioned it in my last recap, and now it’s actually here. Gingerbread is back! For me, that means listening to Christmas carols every Friday starting in September. It definitely helps me finally get into the Christmas spirit again—something I somehow never really felt until two years ago. Let’s take a look at the performance.

📈 Performance:

S&P 500: +2.29%

MSCI World: +1.97%

DAX: +2.45%

Dividend portfolio: -0.03%

My top and bottom performers in August were (Top 3/Bottom 3):

🟢 ($TSCO (-0.75%) ) Tractor Supply +13.69%

🟢 ($MSFT (+0.28%) ) Microsoft +10.51%

🟢 ($HTGC (-1.26%) ) Hercules Capital +9.21%

🔴 ($UNH (-1.12%) ) UnitedHealth -7.83%

🔴 ($BATS (+0.5%) ) British American Tobacco -8.92%

🔴 ($IMB (+2.69%) ) Imperial Brands -11.93%

Dividends:

August 2026: €155.87

August 2025: €157.09

Change: -0.78%

$STAG (-0.63%) STAG Industrial now pays dividends only quarterly, no longer monthly; additionally, the dividend from Petroleo Brasileiro came in slightly lower.

Sales:

🟥 None

Purchases:

🟩 ($EOAN (-0.23%) ) E.ON (€495)

Investment Plans:

($CTAS (+0.23%) ) Cintas (€50)

($MSFT (+0.28%) ) Microsoft (€25)

What else has been going on?

The heating is finally working again. The bills are with the solar panel company, but they haven’t made a move yet—I’m not sure if they’ll just deduct it or process it through insurance. So the bill is still outstanding. But that’s no big deal. As long as they cover it in the end (which they’ve promised to do several times already).

Other than that, not much has happened. I made a purchase for the first time in a while. There’s also an open order waiting for Telekom. Other than that, I’m still keeping an eye on things. Of course, I still need to keep building up my nest egg, but now that all the bills are paid, there’s a little more money left over to invest. At least, that’s what I hope.

🥅 Goals for 2026:

I’m aiming to reach €85,000 in my dividend portfolio this year. I’m currently at around €81,535. I expect to receive approximately €641 in net dividends this year (according to getquin). This means the goal is still within reach.

Are you that optimistic about the rest of the year?

@GoDividend Why not?

@DividendenWaschbaer That's true again. Last year, I saw another +4% during that period. It would be great if it turned out similarly positive.

@GoDividend Well, I'm still investing a little bit, too.
