AGNC

Hello everyone,

I really wonder why so little is reported here about $AGNC (-0,25%) and Co is reported here.

This stock is currently extremely strong on the market - and there is also a regular monthly dividend.

Before the usual comments like "yield trap", "dividend will be cut" or "REITs are risky" come up: Please take a look AT the big picture. Sure, these are REITs that are heavily dependent on interest rates. But look at where market interest rates were five years ago: Zero interest rate phase, followed by the most intense rate hike cycle in decades. It is therefore understandable that mREITs have suffered setbacks in this environment.

Is a monthly dividend really a problem now?

Or should it not rather be seen as an attractive way of generating regular income?

Yes, of course you have to take tax allowances into account - that's clear.

But apart from that, the investment is currently very strong and stable.

I just wanted to share this - sorry if it sounds a bit direct, but I think it's an observation that deserves attention.

I've been invested there for 2 years. I'm happy about the juicy dividends every month and the share has even been back in the black for 2 weeks :)

On a downward trend since 2012, dividend payout declining and also over 200%, I think there are better candidates.

It certainly depends on your point of view, I have had both since 2023 $VICI and $AGNC, with VICI incl. Divi I am up 3.8% with AGNC over 50%

@Trial_and_Error I agree with you, it always depends on the entry or exit....but at $VICI I am also at ~24% with interruptions, only that they pay out just under 68% and not over 200%.

Ask yourself what is healthier in the long term 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sure $VICI I also have significantly more :) $AGNC was actually a test in the MREIT universe and you have to keep an eye on this title. I wouldn't buy more at the moment either...

@SAUgut777 the dividend payout has been stable at $0.12 per month since 2021. As long as nothing is lowered, I will continue to print money.

Been in for 2 years. Collected a substantial dividend and an additional 20% plus. I'm happy with it. There are better but also worse 🤙

I've been a big fan of AGNC since 2022. And I'm happy about my dividend every month. And yes, I've often had to listen to bad things from friends, saying that Reit shares are so bad and so on. Then I show them my portfolio and my figures, price gains plus dividend payments over the last few years. And their eyes light up immediately.

If you don't mind falling prices, then yes. Otherwise, it's better to look elsewhere. As you can see from the chart, the dividends are financed from the substance, which is not a good sign.
