The USD will lose its reserve currency status

This war will be the end of the petro dollar and the dollar as a reserve currency. In the end, Trump achieves his goal and all production returns to the USA because the USD is so weak 😂. It was all planned that way, of course 🦧

So my last American position ($CACI (-0,76%) ) will be sold off when the war is over in 5 years. Unless the USD collapses before the end of the war

So yes, but probably much slower than most people think.
There is simply no substitute for the dollar, nothing in the world has that much liquidity, at least NOT YET.
This is going to be a looooooooooong death.

@TotallyLost Yes, that is the only thing that still protects the dollar, gold will probably be used for a while and then the yuan will become the new reserve currency once Europe has come to terms with the fact that the USD has lost its role. Or maybe there will be a whole new currency that is tied to gold again 🤷‍♂️

@Shrimpman Iran simply has to say that it will only block oil deliveries that are invoiced in US dollars. That is enough to cause the USA to collapse from within.

@Shrimpman Gold is not liquid enough and setting up deals is too complex.
Crypto would be even easier, but there is a lack of acceptance.

And for the yuan to be used, you would have to be prepared to become dependent on China... that's no better.

The euro has a real change here, as the Europeans are perceived internationally as reliable.
And the European Union does not tend to behave erratically due to its size and complexity.

I hate to say it, but the shitty bureaucracy could be an advantage here. 😅

@TotallyLost Google for mBridge. It can be implemented very quickly and is accepted by the BRICs countries (now 40% of world trade). Saudi Arabia has also been a BRICs member/partner since last year 😉

@Olli68
Sounds interesting, but I only read "pilot phase" and "China is not participating because they are pushing the e-CNY".

But BRICs without China is not so impressive now...

@TotallyLost I don't think it's important for China that their yuan replaces the US dollar either. They simply want to destroy the US dollar and in particular the SWIFT system behind it.
There are already Gulf states that have sold oil in yuan.
But China doesn't want to release yuan internationally either, so mBridge will be a good system for the smaller BRIC countries.
The most important thing is always international acceptance. And if the Gulf states accept a currency ---> Bingo!!!

Oil is the key that determines whether there is a world reserve currency or not. The US has had this with the US dollar since the 40/50s and with the SWIFT system, with which they could simply cut off/sanction states from the US dollar and simply freeze states' US dollar holdings.
All countries in the world had to maintain dollar holdings so that they could do business with other countries. As a result, there was always a strong and reliable demand for US dollars, the US dollar was strong and interest rates were low. The debts that the USA incurred were therefore paid by the global community.
Hence the wars against any country that questioned the US dollar.

Saddam Hussain sold oil in euros in the early 2000s ---> the USA suddenly had "evidence of nuclear weapons" and de-threatened him with the invasion.
Gaddhafi wanted to introduce the gold dinar for oil deliveries ---> he was overthrown by the US invasion
Venezuela started selling oil to China in yuan in recent years ---> after the president was kidnapped by the USA, they are now selling in US dollars again
And now Iran, who sold their oil to China in yuan because they were cut off from SWIFT and didn't want to kiss Trump's ass.... and didn't want to kiss Trump's ass.

@Shrimpman The yuan is strongly suspected of being manipulated. Always nicely alongside the dollar, for export. The two currencies in China don't make it any easier, especially as they are the same bills. In China it is the remimbi, abroad it is the yuan.
The only possible alternative would be euro bonds. There are too few of these to be really useful.
When I look at the European environment, nothing will change. Voters cannot be sold more Europe.

Normally Sunday is the day for the end of the world 😂 Let's sell all our deposits, pool the money and invest it in a getquin nuclear bunker and canned food for the next 10 years 😉

@BavarianLion All you have to do is reduce your US weighting, there will be winners among them all

@Shrimpman There are winners in every crisis, unfortunately! But do you really think that global corporations like Amazon or Alphabet will be destroyed by this war? Why should I (let's take these 2 shares specifically) sell them now? I will also invest more in the EU step by step, but I won't sell certain US stocks!

🍊 Exactly, and the tariffs are backfiring and the Americans are paying more for everything, including fuel. He's not a president, he's a businessman and not a good one at that. I think he 🏌️hat a good handicap.

I actually think the war will be over in two weeks in the sense that the Americans will withdraw without a plan and leave the region in the state it is in at the moment. It will then be interesting to see whether this calms the Iranian regime or whether they continue to use the street as a means of exerting pressure.

@DieEnte7 If the Americans leave without opening the road, America is finished as a global hegemon. The Gulf states and many others will then reconsider their position and reorient themselves towards China. Especially in Asia

@Shrimpman Yes and no. It's not going to happen right now, it's going to happen slowly I think, so they're not going to lose that status tomorrow or in 5 years, but I could see it happening. I'm curious to see if the country as a whole will eventually become so alienated from each other that secessionist movements between Democratic and Republican states will increase.
