I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the dividend announcement, either. I have a sizeable position, so of course I'm really happy about it. And the stock is up, too…

@Charmin Yeah, they've really performed well over the last few months; unfortunately, my position isn't quite as large.

@Solitair It's all about the position… 😂

I like Hafnia. Unfortunately, I don't have any shares in it right now, but eventually I'll expand my shipping company portfolio back to three companies, and I'm pretty sure that Hafnia will be the one I add.
@NichtRelevant It's my only one in this industry. I'm up just under 50%, but it's been a wild ride at times. What are your other two?

@Solitair $WAWI (Walenius Wilhelmsen) — a ferry operator — and $MPCC (MPC) — a container shipping company that specializes in smaller vessels.
I also used to hold shares in $TRMD A (Torm), in which Hafnia acquired a stake last year or the year before. But I sold them because the price had risen quite a bit, and I couldn’t resist. If I were to get back into (product) tankers, Hafnia would actually be my first choice.

@NichtRelevant $WAWI And $MPCC pay dividends in Norwegian kroner. This means a very high withholding tax (which you can partially reclaim later). But for now, the withholding tax is over 50%.
And… have you checked out the dividend from $TRMD A? The next dividend is even higher than the one from $HAFNI 😃
By the way, I have all four in my portfolio. And I’ve added to my positions in Torm and Hafnia… wawi and mpcc are just holding positions for me now.

@financial_ninja_104 Yes, the withholding tax on those two Norwegian stocks is enormous. The stock prices have performed well, but I’m not adding to my positions right now either.
$HAFNI and $TRMD A are both exciting companies. If I were to re-enter the market, I’d probably choose $HAFNI —simply because it’s essentially the parent company of the other two. But first, I need to build out my other positions in my portfolio to my target sizes before I add any new stocks.

Do you have any other shipping companies in your portfolio? It’s more of a niche industry for most people.
