Iren, Rocket Lab, and Ondas really took a beating today 😳 They dragged down my entire portfolio along with Alphabet 😅 Do you have any info on why Alphabet crashed so hard?

@BavarianLion Sure,

Investing.com – Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) shares closed down 4.4% on Thursday, causing its market capitalization to drop by $200 billion. The decline was triggered by a Bloomberg report stating that Google is several months behind schedule in rolling out its flagship AI model, Gemini 3.5 Pro.

The report, citing people familiar with the matter, states that the delay is due to Google needing additional time to improve the model’s capabilities, particularly in the area of programming. The setback is causing frustration among Google engineers, AI researchers, and managers. Many fear that the company risks losing market share as competitors such as Anthropic and OpenAI develop models that surpass Gemini’s capabilities.

Both OpenAI and Meta Platforms Inc. have recently released new models that outperform Google’s current offerings in the field of AI-powered code generation. Although Google updated the training data for Gemini late last month to improve these capabilities, the results were reportedly disappointing.

A Google spokesperson stated that the company is rapidly rolling out a wide range of models while prioritizing cost efficiency for customers. He added that Google is currently testing 3.5 Pro, an improved Flash model, and other models with partners, and is engaged in a productive dialogue with the U.S. government regarding model testing and broader regulatory frameworks.

The report noted that Google’s corporate structure could lead to delays. Numerous levels of stakeholders are involved in preparing the models for release, as well as in integrating AI into the company’s vast product portfolio—including Search, Maps, and YouTube. In addition, Google is in ongoing discussions with the U.S. government, which is increasingly monitoring the advanced models developed by AI companies with regard to their capabilities and safety standards.

Alphabet will present its quarterly results next week. Investors will be watching closely to see if management provides a highly anticipated update on the revised timeline for Gemini 3.5 Pro and the company’s overall AI development strategy.

@Multibagger Thanks! Well, the next few months are going to be exciting for me— $GOOGL is my largest single holding… although it probably won't make too much of a difference in the long run!

@forestgump Of course. In the short term, they'll continue to correct. But in the medium term, this is a very promising stock.

@forestgump I'm going to hold off on buying more today. I'll wait and see what happens over the weekend. They won't go up 20% on Monday.

Are you going to buy a larger size of " $IREN "?

Which is more important to you? It currently accounts for about 4% of the portfolio's value. If the price drops below $30, I could see increasing that to 6%.
