Unusual movement in EuwaxII Gold

$EWG2 (+0,03%) has already been down around 1% for half an hour, at least the selling price. The spread has widened to almost 2%.

$IGLN (+0,12%) is close to 0%.

Something is wrong. This is not normal.

Risk of failure? Delivery problems?

To all $EWG2 (+0,03%) I would advise all holders to keep a closer eye on the next few days and possibly swap into other ETCs.

With such products, it is not the market that is volatile, but the pricing. This is what happens when a product only has a single market maker. There is no deep order book.

@gorehammer It was probably a very thin order book. I.e. little trading.

@8fionn Maybe it has something to do with that. But $EWG2 is actually only tradable in Germany/EU and other gold ETCs were liquid. So the matter is not entirely clear. Even if it seems to have normalized again.
