A Million with Satellit - MSCI World Momentum Champions - Monthly Closing, June 2026

🚀🚀 Month 6 since launch was also really strong. 🚀🚀

It wasn’t until last week that things started to slow down a bit. But over the past two days, it’s been on a nice upward trend again. At one point, the portfolio even briefly touched 40k before getting hammered down again.

Based on the algorithm, I was invested in Western Digital ($WDC (-9,6%)), Lumentum ($LITE (-9,85%)), Kioxia ($285A (-14,18%) ), Bloom Energy ($BE (-7,79%)), Micron ($MU (-6,11%)), and Dell ($DELL (-7,22%)). In addition, outside the algorithm, we are invested in SanDisk ($SNDK (-14,48%)).

The starting value was approximately 28,750 euros. Due to capital gains tax incurred when exchanging Ciena ($CIEN (-8,23%)) for Micron and Dell, 350 euros were lost; in addition, there was a capital inflow of 2,250 euros. This amount was allocated to the new holdings Micron and Dell and, outside the algorithm, to an additional share of SanDisk ($SNDK), since SanDisk is now among the 100 most valuable companies worldwide and has shown the strongest momentum signals over the past 12 months, but remains in the MSCI World Small Cap Index. So I started with 7 stocks and 30,650 euros. And the month once again delivered just under +21% for the satellite portfolio.

+6,350 euros in gains – a 21 percent increase in 30 days 🚀

Who was involved and how it went:

  • Bloom Energy +10% 🚀
  • Western Digital +21% 🚀🚀
  • Lumentum +3.5% 🐌
  • Kioxia +32% 🚀🚀🚀
  • SanDisk +37% 🚀🚀🚀
  • Micron +17% 🚀
  • Dell +1% 🐌

The overall result was heavily driven by Kioxia. Western Digital and SanDisk follow in second and third place. In absolute terms, however, Micron and Bloom Energy also made significant contributions. Dell and Lumentum didn’t hurt the portfolio, and once again, all stocks are in positive territory on a monthly basis. 😍

YTD, the momentum performance now stands at a strong +165% TTWROR. 🤯😍

For Q2/2026, it’s +105%. 💪🏼

It would be nice to close out the next month above the 40k mark.

The analysis will now show whether there are any changes for July. I’ll give you this much: The last trading day shook things up again, and at least Dell won’t be in the mix anymore. The analysis is underway... (Edit: see the July portfolio in the comments)

It's looking good so far—if you were to reduce the number now, it would only be 13x instead of 27x to reach a million :-) I'm also right on track at the moment. More on that in my monthly update.......In the two months since I’ve also been running a Global Momentum model, it has significantly outperformed the US Momentum Leaders. I’m curious to see when the tables will turn.....

@Krush82 You might be right about narrowing the focus. But I have a good feeling about my approach, and that’s what you need to invest significant amounts of money. Just like you did.

I’m a little glad that I was able to inspire you a bit to take a global approach, too!
You were a huge inspiration to me in launching this satellite.
In fact, YOU were THE inspiration.

Let’s see how the next few months go… 😊

@Wealth-Accelerator The "feel-good" factor plays a huge and important role in this type of investment or strategy implementation—and even more so as the portfolio value grows. Whether it’s a highly concentrated approach (1–2 stocks) or, like you, a handful more stocks. To me, these are just numbers on a screen that I can’t touch. I try to stick with it for as long as possible. Over the years, I’ve contributed just under 15k and, as of this moment, have already more than quadrupled that amount. Oh, and I’d thought about the global momentum strategy before, but never really followed through due to a lack of backtest data. After talking with you and a few others, I just went ahead and started in May with a weighting of about 33%, and I’m currently at around 40%.

@Krush82 I’ve now put in 19,500, and it’s nearly doubled. But I won’t be putting in much more than that. It’s similar to your situation. It can run on its own now, and at the end of the day, to me, they’re “just numbers on a screen” because they don’t change my daily life in the here and now at all.

Still, seeing the fluctuations affects me emotionally. The way it shoots up… I haven’t gotten used to that yet. But the same goes for my core ETF. It also fluctuates immensely in absolute terms, and when you’re barely making any monthly income due to parental leave (like I am right now), it’s pretty intense to experience those five-figure monthly swings….

Just a side note:
If my satellite portfolio breaks the 100k mark, I’ll consider withdrawing 4% p.a. and reallocating it to my core portfolio.

But as of now, that’s just a thought.

@Wealth-Accelerator I know all too well about those fluctuations and how they affect you emotionally. At some point, it just stopped after the daily volatility in euros hit the four-digit range. There’s certainly no reason not to put your 4% into the core portfolio once the target size is reached. Since my momentum strategies make up the core of my portfolio, I won’t be making any such reallocations for now.

@Krush82 Definitely a positive aspect of the habituation effect 👍🏼

@Krush82 But your Global Momentum model isn't available on Wiki, is it? Is that planned for the future?

@Multibagger See his update. It's been running as a Wikifolio since mid-May, but isn't tradable yet.

Congratulations. You don't use stop-loss orders? So you always hold on until the end of the month before making a trade?

@market_analyst_466 Yes, exactly.
I'm banking on a positive long-term return and fully accepting the fluctuations, because my model believes that a strong momentum signal has a good chance of yielding a positive return in the following month.

And thanks for the compliments 🌺

Update for the July portfolio:

Dell ( $DELL ) is out, making room for Ibiden ( $4062 ) from Japan and Marvell ( $MRVL ).
This brings the algorithm’s total to 7 stocks out of a maximum of 8.
Here’s to a great July 💪🏼
