Hello everyone, what do you think of the Gerd Kommer ETF? Would you invest in it? Do you think the TER of 0.5% is too high? And are there alternative ETFs that are so globally diversified and have such a balanced weighting?

14Guys, you might have the coolest portfolio in the world, with which you have already made 40% YTD. But to me, today $GERD (+0,01%)
$K0MR (+0,24%) a heart today:
$GERD (+0,01%) It's a shame that most of the commentators here don't understand the ETF at all, and therefore don't have the necessary patience of at least 10-15 years - and the coolness to simply sit out interim drawdowns and stock market crises stoically.
After a few individual investments and rather ill-considered purchases, I have finally made up my mind, savings plans which I simply run alongside my individual purchases.
I currently save every two weeks:
$SPXS (+0,29%) with 50 €
I will be saving in this ETF for a very long time, as the investment horizon here is >15 years. As this is often used as a benchmark for many portfolio performances, it can't be wrong if you want to pursue a core-satellite strategy later on.
$HPRO (+1,11%) with 50 €
I believe that the higher prime rate is currently a good opportunity to enter the real estate market and to keep it as a portfolio component in order to gain a little more weighting in this sector. It's also the only distributing ETF, which takes away the advantage of the tax deferral effect, but I find the payouts very motivating :D .
$GERD (+0,01%) with 25 €
A bet with a short-term investment horizon. Many positions are doubled here, but the overweighting is intentional.
What do you think of my strategy?
Hello everyone,
what do you think of the Gerd Kommer ETF
IE0001UQQ933 $GERD (+0,01%) ?
I wanted to invest the risk part of my portfolio here but I'm not quite sure😬
I am actually a fan of his theories and think the ETF is solid. However, I find it questionable that an ETF is being set up here (with currently little total capital) in the name of one person. What happens if Mr. Kommer is no longer around in 50 years?
Will the ETF fall or be taken over by an institution? Will the index continue to be adjusted?
What do you think?
$GERD The ETF is not intended as a risk investment, but as a stand-alone. It is so broad that it will perform like any world ETF, with minimal deviation due to the factor tilt. (the target is 1% more return p.a.)
It makes no sense to add it, as it will perform like the market. You don't add $VWCE either.
If you want to add factors, you do it via factor ETFs:
$XDEV, $XDEM, $XDEQ...
Interesting contribution from $GERD (+0,01%)
$K0MR (+0,24%) on his blog. There are umpteen strategies - but the greatest profit can be achieved automatically by avoiding a few things: https://gerd-kommer.de/via-negativa/
Of course, only on average, because with his strategy, extremes such as those currently seen with Nvidia or Bitcoin would be virtually non-existent in our portfolios.
But these extremes only "happen" to a small proportion of investors, so we are absolutely in a bubble here that suggests otherwise.
To summarize, I am convinced that Kommer's approach is the right one for almost every investor in the long term. But unfortunately it is also a brutally boring one...
@DonkeyInvestor I didn't know how else to cope with the trauma. 😂
Topic: Multifactor investing
The $GERD (+0,01%) is doing a good job so far. An integrated multifactor ETF. TER is also absolutely OK for what it does. Thinking about simply switching to it in the long term. All-in-one, so to speak. Already have it via VL through the company. Nice product. I find factor investing itself exciting and I'm following bswp. @PowerWordChill who has already implemented a multifactor manually
🤔
It's just not a mass product, but a project of the heart.
Depot tidied up a bit. I have moved from $AAPL (+1,34%) (nice profit), $BNTX (+0,93%) (Corona Gambel with -60%) and $AMZN (+0,26%) (+-0%). I still have other positions with another broker from my ex-employer $HPUR (+6,89%) and Composites, which will remain a constant reminder to me.
Why all this? Everyone is talking about the tech hype, everything is going well and rosy at the moment. I was lucky last year $TSLA (-4,58%) I was lucky last year, but I don't believe I can or want to beat the market with stock picking.
I have also said goodbye to dividend strategies. I've tidied everything up and am now laser-like focused on my market-neutral, broadly diversified ETF portfolio and a small BTC position.
My ETF strategy is simple: $VWRL (+0,18%) 90% and 10% Europe Small Caps Value Weighted. That's all. As soon as the allowance is exhausted, I will continue with $VWCE (+0,17%) . In addition, my VL in the $GERD (+0,01%) will continue for another 6 years.
Keep it clean, keep it simple. Or to put it in the words of Christian Delacour: "Ultra-stable and aggressive".
And whenever I'm overcome by madness and greed, I cure the fever dream by reading Sovereign Investing.
Peace ✌️
