United Internet ($UTDI (+0,21%)) - Ralph Dommermuth is seeking to acquire United Internet for 35 EUR per share. This would give him ownership of more than half of the internet group. The executive intends to acquire 17 million United Internet shares through either an existing company or a new entity he controls. The share price, which stood at nearly 37 EUR in September, had fallen by about 5 EUR by the end of October. United Internet had announced in mid-September that it intended to end its share buyback program early due to low trading volumes. However, it remains uncertain whether Dommermuth’s purchase will actually go through.
Peloton ($2ON (+1,9%)) — The boom in home exercise bikes driven by the COVID-19 crisis is over. In the last quarter, the fitness equipment manufacturer posted a loss of $376 million. As a result, Peloton lowered both its revenue forecast for the current fiscal year and its subscriber growth projection. Investors reacted immediately, and the stock fell by approximately 33% over the course of a single day.
Varta ($VAR1) - The battery company lowered its revenue forecast for the current fiscal year due to production difficulties at some suppliers. In response, the stock plummeted by about 19 percent.

New York City - One day after his official election, New York’s newly elected mayor (Democrat) Eric Adams spoke in an interview about his plans to introduce a “City Coin” for the city. This is intended to be one of the first steps toward transforming New York into a crypto-friendly city. He also announced his intention to receive his first three paychecks in the form of cryptocurrencies. He also mentioned that he has already spoken with Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who is known for his positive stance on cryptocurrencies and who last week also called for his salary to be paid 100% in Bitcoin. Miami already has its own city coin, which is indeed very popular. Francis and Adams have now decided to engage in a friendly competition to see which of the two cities can make greater progress in the crypto sector. Adams’ goal is for New York to maintain its reputation as the financial capital even in the age of cryptocurrencies.
