🇯🇵 Japan 🇯🇵

Since the beginning of this year, the Nikkei 225 has performed really well compared to other major indices such as the S&P500.

Here is a small comparison between:

$XDJP (+1,98%) 🇯🇵

$SPY5 (+0,99%) 🇺🇸

$CD5 (+1,75%) 🇪🇺

$VWRL (+1,32%) 🇺🇳

According to William Pesek for Barron's (link to article below), there are three reasons:

- Favorable P/E ratios;

- A central bank still pressing on the monetary gas pedal;

- A renaissance in Japanese corporate governance.

I have been overweight Japan in my portfolio for several months (~15%-17%).

Are you invested in Japan?

Are you bullish?

I've had Shimano for a year now. Seems to be the only stock that hasn't gone up... 😂
(Decided against a Japan ETF at the time because I was sure Shimano would do better). Call me "the brain"

The Nikkei225 already performed very, very well last year; this is not a phenomenon that has only been observed since this year. My current exposure to Japan is ~20%, with a slight upward trend. Most of my exposure is in individual stocks, with a small proportion coming from my All World ETF. An individual position in $8001 is still outstanding, then my Japan exposure will be ~25%, and that's it for now.

I have also only covered Japan via shin etsu and the roche-pendant chugai, both have also performed fantastically, but they only have a 5% weighting in the portfolio, Japan is still too risky for me, especially longterm (will they ever get their monetary policy under control, how and what are they doing about the catastrophic working conditions and the exorbitant population decline).
In any case, the success proves you right shortterm:)!

I have $8031 in my portfolio and think the company is great. Another reason why many Japanese companies are doing so well is that many continue to do business in/with Russia.

Great that you're posting this now... I'm thinking of adding the Nikkei 225 because Japan is currently completely underrepresented at 1%. How do you see Japan in the long term? and how do you see the POwer of the Nikkei 225 in the long term?

Classic devaluation boom. Can go on for a bit longer.
