My Dividend Savings Plan🐓

On August 4, I’ll transfer €1,000 from my DKB call money account into the $JEGP (+0,27 %) to maximize my dividend earnings! 🍗

That would give me about 80 euros in dividends, which I’ll then $VWRL (+0,53 %) portfolio. 🐥

Hey, I've had the $JEGP for 13 or 14 months—don't waste your money on it; it doesn't work.

If you absolutely want dividends, go with a classic $TDIV or $VHYL, or just put everything into the $VWRL

There are a lot of people here who are really unhappy with the $JEGP and have already closed it out. So don’t make the same mistake.
I’m getting rid of mine, too, and will be spreading it out across $LDGL $WINC and $VHYL

@nitroxx That’s exactly how I had reallocated my portfolio. I held it for 8 quarters and saw a 0% return. I did receive €4,000 in dividends, but over time, that was offset by the loss in value. So, all in all, it was a zero-sum game.

Don't shoot yourself in the foot—go with $VWRL. Yes, the dividend is low at first, but you have a much longer investment horizon than almost any of us here, and otherwise you'd lose soooo much in returns over the years and decades—that would really be wasted potential.

And I’m telling you this as someone who’s also aiming for a dividend strategy—and I’m trying to combine growth and dividends somehow, too.

Um, you do realize, though, that the returns don't primarily come from dividends, but from the fund's CC strategy, right?

I'm asking myself (and by extension, you) this because you explicitly mention dividends...🤷

That doesn't make sense. Just skip the $JEGP and put everything into the $VWRL. With these CC funds, the upside is limited, and in bull markets, they usually lag behind a simple World/All World fund. You're only 15, so you're better off going for maximum returns.

Think about what YOU want. How long you hold the ETF is also crucial. You also need to understand what a covered call ETF is, how it generates distributions, and what advantages and disadvantages it offers in rising and falling markets, respectively. As a supplement to receive monthly dividends, I’m satisfied. In terms of capital appreciation, I’ve had a return of about 4% since April 2025 (one-time purchases and a savings plan), plus about €2,000 in dividends. However, I’m also a few years away from retirement and am building up a portfolio focused on high dividends.

@Laeuft I feel the same way and handle the ETF the same way. As a small addition to my portfolio, I think it's perfectly fine. However, if I still had a very long investment horizon ahead of me, I'd probably look for alternatives as well.

If you're really looking to generate income, check out the $JEPQ.
I'm 20, I own it myself, and I'm pretty happy with it.
But keep in mind that while you have exposure to the NASDAQ, you'll only be able to benefit slightly from a NASDAQ bull market.
