Am I the only one here? 🤔😅

Had bought another larger tranche in April during the 🍊crash $SMH (+0,02 %) which has also performed well so far.

Many posts here bullish purchases of $NVDA (+0,32 %)
$AVGO (+0,18 %)
$QCOM (-0,12 %)
$ASML (+0,07 %)
$TSM (-0,26 %)
$AMD (+0,73 %)
$MU (+0,04 %) etc.

But no posts from sector semi ETFs.

Did I miss something or why does it feel like I have an old dinosaur in my portfolio?

Well, sector ETFs are usually more expensive than broader ETFs. And often it is not worth it, the semi has only made about 1.5% YTD against the nasdaq with 8% at 0.35%ter vs 0.05%ter

@Variett However, if you bought at this year's low in April, the performance looks considerably better😉 Unfortunately I didn't, but the author obviously did🚀

@All-in-or-nothing well, if you buy everything at the low, individual stocks are even better :P

@Variett YTD is not really a good history for performance comparisons, you would have to go back 5 to 10 years.

@Variett but you must have picked the right ones this year😉 it's not about buying at the low, but the semi ETF went down so sharply in April and is now up again that it's quite significant. YTD can of course be compared, but it doesn't make sense (at least in this case), as this was specifically about timing and of course it is always about the investment horizon or the goal of Investments🤷🏼‍♂️

@Mbsmoker Why didn't you buy a little more afterwards? Haven't there been any fundamental changes in the underlying semi companies since June 2024?

I originally bought some at €22 in 2022 or so. Realized partial profit and topped up again last year, after which there was a slump.
I'm not in the red now, but I had expected more from it.
I then topped up one or two individual shares, which definitely made sense afterwards.
Let's see what time brings.

Semiconductors are not such a big hit at the moment in my opinion, or I have the wrong ones :-D
...I'm looking forward to the figures from $IFX this week

@TechNav I am now invested in individual shares here at $AMD, $MU and $MPWR and have therefore moved away from the ETF sector.
