Today I'm going to show you my best and worst trades since the start of my investment journey. No show, no excuses - just real numbers and learnings.

🟢 My top 15 trades

📈 From Rheinmetall to Palantir to Ferrari - some positions really took off.

Biggest single gain: +131 % for Rheinmetall💪

→ The majority came from strategically placed opportunities, not luck.

🔴 My flop 15 trades

📉 Nvidia put, Mainz Biomed, BrainChip... The biggest flop?

-99.76 % with a warrant on Nvidia 😬

→ The lesson: highly speculative bets quickly go against you - especially without a plan.

📘 My most important learning

I learned this lesson in my first year of investing:

Short-term trading may work from time to time - but not in the long term.

Today I have a clear strategy:

✅ Core-satellite

✅ Focus on quality

✅ Discipline & long-termism

🧠 Why am I sharing this?

Transparency is not a buzzword for me - it's a duty.

Losses are part of it. If you only talk about your profits, you're only telling half the truth.

Hello and have a nice evening,

I would like to ask you for a portfolio evaluation and suggestions for improvement 👀

Or roast me and tell me just one ETF...🙂‍↔️

Objective:

Long-term wealth accumulation

(Reach the 100k for now - I'm only at 2k but that will bestimmt🤝🏼)

About me:

20Y savings sum 150-200€ month

Trained as a real estate agent (therefore Realty haha)

Investing since the start of training 1.09.23

I wanted to go through my positions individually and tell you why I bought the position and what I think about it at the moment:

💚 - Stay in

( or convince me otherwise)

💛- Divided

MSCI ACWI - $ACWI 💚

An Etf solution - core of the portfolio should make up ~ 40-50% of the portfolio in the long term

MSCI India - $QDV5 (-0,66 %) 💚

deliberate doubling with share in ACWI - see great potential and economic growth here

Deka Fond - 💚

I know, no savings bank funds, but these are my VWL and they are worthwhile for me - very tech-heavy and currently yielding good returns

Realty - $O (+0,65 %) 💚

Solid monthly payer with great upside potential if interest rates fall

BAT - 💛 $BATS (+2,89 %)

Great upside potential - comeback if new tobacco-free products conquer the market

+ High dividend

DHL - 💚 $DHL (+1,37 %)

Burggraben - DE - Dividend - Industry pick

Blackrock 💚- $BLK

Burggraben - Great market power + growth + dividend(growth)

United Health 💚 - $UNH (-1,66 %)

Moat + dividend growth + stability + growth

Pfizer 💛 - $PFIZER

Big pharma company + comeback potential + dividend

(I will probably sell - possibly buy diabetes pharma company $LLY (+0,49 %)
$NOVO B (-1,65 %)

Monster 💚 - $MNST (+1,09 %)

Growth rocket 🚀 + brand power + no debt

Nextera 💚 - $NEE (+1,07 %)

Monopoly position + benefits from falling interest rates + divi(-growth) + utility pick

Volkswagen 💛 - $VOW (+2,08 %)

Brand power/portfolio - DE - Dividend - Comeback

ASML 💚💚 - - $ASML (-1,11 %)

NL/EU - moat - growth rocket - great future potential

P&G💚 $PG (+1,17 %)

Blue chip - Stability - Brand power/portfolio

My watchlist:

$MC (-1,51 %)
$DE (-1,84 %)
$V (+0,58 %)
$META (-3,46 %) + Pharma

I have now learned that dividends do not play a major role at my age (more focus on growth in the future), but they all motivate me at times💪.

Unfortunately, I have few tech companies, which has left me with a lot of returns...Tech/IT is still the largest sector in my portfolio with just under 20%🤡

Initially paid a lot of learning money through MPT and too many positions - forgive me 🙈

I'm looking forward to your roast and hope for more than 1ETF solution ;)

Economy on 03.05.2024...

Eventful week comes to an end ⤵️

This week was a busy one. We had a lot of quarterly figures from the big companies. $AMZN (-1,93 %) Amazon, $AMD (-5,46 %) AMD, $MMM (-0,51 %) 3M, $MCD (+0,02 %) McDonalds, $KO (+2,07 %) CocaCola, $QCOM (-2,78 %) Qualcomm, $PFIZER Pfizer, $MA (-0,13 %) Mastercard, $ETSY (-4,59 %) Etsy, $SBUX (+0,65 %) Starbucks and so on.

Yesterday, the following were added after the close of trading:

$AAPL (+0,25 %)
Apple
second quarter earnings per share of $1.53, beating analysts' estimates of $1.50. Revenue of $90.8bn, above expectations of $90.32bn. iPhone revenue of $45.96bn in the second quarter (consensus $46.4bn, previous year $51.3bn). Apple gives green light for $110bn share buyback, the largest share buyback in the company's history. Apple also signals that revenue growth is expected in the current quarter and the dividend will be increased by 4%.

$COIN (-4,73 %)
Coinbase Global
beat analyst estimates of $1.01 in the first quarter with earnings per share of $4.40. Revenue of $1.64 bn exceeded expectations of $1.3 bn.

$BKNG (-1,73 %)
Booking Holdings
Adjusted for one-time items, analysts had expected earnings per share of $13.98. Booking delivered $20.39. Revenue was also $160 million above expectations at $4.42 billion (+16.9%). Thanks to massive share buybacks, the number of outstanding shares fell by 9 % compared to the previous year. The Booking share price rose significantly.

$SQ (-2,82 %)
Block
exceeds analysts' estimates of $0.72 in the first quarter with earnings per share of $0.85. Revenue of $5.96 billion exceeds expectations of $5.83 billion.

$NET (-6,71 %)
Cloudflare
first quarter earnings per share of $0.16 beat analysts' estimates of $0.13. Revenue of $378.6m beat expectations of $373.24m.

$NOVO B (-1,65 %)
Novo-Nordisk achieves Q1 revenue of DKK 65.34bn (PY: DKK 53.36bn), EBIT of DKK 31.85bn (PY: DKK 25.00bn, analyst forecast: DKK 29.04bn) and net profit of DKK 25.40bn (PY: DKK 19.81bn). In the outlook for 2024, the company sees adjusted revenue growth of 19% to 27% (forecast: 25.9%) and an increase in operating profit of 22% to 30% (forecast: 28.6%). Weight loss aids such as Wegovy and the diabetes drug Ozempic are driving the figures and are currently meeting with very high demand, particularly in the USA. For 2024, the company is now forecasting currency-adjusted sales growth of 19% to 27% instead of the previous 18% to 26% and operating profit growth of 22% to 30% instead of 21% to 29%.

The FED also held another meeting this week and discussed interest rates. It was literally said: "The next interest rate move cannot be an increase". The prospect of June was also held out. The market will now almost certainly be pricing in a rate cut for June. If this does not happen or there are signs that it will be postponed again, it could correct sharply again. It will be interesting to see what the ECB does now. Their latest statement was that they no longer want to be dependent on the Fed when it comes to interest rate decisions. Let's see what will be decided there soon.

Next week we will continue with the quarterly figures. Of course, there were also a lot of figures from Germany and Europe. I will try to include a few from there next week without it becoming too much.

For now, I wish everyone a good weekend. Most of you will also have a short week next week.

Best regards from the Baltic coast

Martin

What was your biggest fail in 2023?

For me it was $PFIZER I knew that Corona sales would continue to decline, but I didn't expect this sell-off!

I had actually considered them to be cheap 😅...

At some point I got rid of the crap 😩😄

No longer had the confidence in a turnaround that the share would turn around significantly.

Economy on 01.11.2023...

FED today and also Paypal publishes the numbers!⤵️

On it goes into November. This starts today immediately with very important events. The FED decides on the next interest rate period. Will it remain as it is or will be further increased? It was said in many interviews, that there will be further increases this year, as one continues to target the mark of 2% inflation and the way is still very far. Also the share, about which one surely in 2023 most spoke, supplies today the numbers. The speech is of course from Paypal. These numbers come today after-hours.

Let's look at the numbers, the last 2 days:

In the prior-year period, it was only 15.7%, and in the previous quarter it was even slightly lower at 15.6%. Net profit jumped up to USD 181.4 million, which corresponds to USD 2.53 per ADS share.

$FSLR (-3,2 %)
