2getquin Daily Summary 15.08.2022
Hello. getquin,
is. that. hot. Fittingly, there are the quarterly figures from Weber! Also included is Hellofresh, Axel Springer and the key interest rate in China.
Europe🌍:
1. Hellofresh achieves record sales
Hellofresh, the mail-order cooking box company, is optimistic despite higher inflation and the global economic slowdown. Presenting its quarterly results on Monday, CEO Dominik Richter said, "We remain optimistic about our long-term growth potential. That's why Hellofresh will continue to work toward its 2025 targets, which call for sales of 10 billion euros by then, he said. This year, after all, the target is just under €7.1 billion.
Similar to online fashion retailer Zalando, the DAX-listed company had lowered its annual targets just last month, blaming negative consumer sentiment. Still, the Berlin-based company is more confident than its more modest U.S. rival Blue Apron due to its record second-quarter sales.

Americas🌏:
2. Axel Springer expects revenues of four billion euros
Despite the impact of the Corona pandemic and the Ukraine crisis, the Axel Springer Group is looking to the future with hope. At a celebration in honor of publisher Friede Springer's 80th birthday in Berlin on Monday, Group CEO and major shareholder Mathias Döpfner said, "While other competitors have stopped investing in the future, we have invested like never before." The result is about $750 million in profits last year."
Since its withdrawal from the stock market, the publisher has hardly presented any corporate figures. Sales this year will be about $1 billion higher than in 2020, Döpfner said. That would be "the biggest growth in the history of the company" in just two years. Döpfner did not provide specific details.

3rd China unexpectedly lowers key interest rates
China's central bank unexpectedly cut its benchmark interest rate for the second time this year on Monday and withdrew some cash from the banking system in an effort to stimulate credit demand to support the COVID-hit economy.
Economists and analysts believe Chinese authorities want to support the sluggish economy by allowing increasing divergence with other major economies that are aggressively raising their interest rates.
