Biggest mistakes on the stock market

Lately I've been reading more and more that we're welcoming new people to the community. And people who are new to the investment world.

It's really great that the topic of shares is finally not such a niche topic in Germany.

In the same breath, an appeal to new investors: We're in a bubble here and the majority only post their huge profits here. Don't let this put you off or unsettle you. You will make mistakes at the beginning and feel insecure. The best way to counter this is to read up and form your own opinion rather than blindly picking stocks.

Hence my idea, my biggest mistakes to date 🤠

$ASML (-0.78%) Sold at €900 because I got scared of heights.

$WMT (-0.85%) Sold at €50 because I didn't believe in the business model.

At the $GME (-0.35%) went in with a lever and of course everything was liquidated 😀 .

Oh, I could tell you a few more stories. 😃

Mine was Walgreen Boots, among others. Once a dividend aristocrat, blindly bought the dip three times until it was €7,000 and then sold it for €3,500 because it was delisted and the stock was no longer tradable.

My biggest mistake was that, despite Tenbagger, I continued to believe everything the Haffa brothers said and held on to it until it was written off. I have never fallen in love with a share since.

I can easily keep up, I sold Siemens Energy at €60, bought some Hims at €2.99 and sold everything between €5 and €20....Mic Drop 🎤

Sold Northrop Grumman last year after the bad earnings with minus 20%! I still don't know why I did that, it was a stupid emotional act ☹️

My biggest mistake at the beginning was trusting finfluencers and buying shares without doing my own research. Thanks to a masked PayPal man, I bought at around €150 and sold after ages at €50. Loss just under 1000€. 🤦🏼‍♂️
Fortunately, I learned from this and have never bought blindly since.

Back then I had Mullen Automotive (I don't even know if they still exist), I had a relatively large amount of money in it and the share was also liquidated, so to speak, because they did around 3 reverse splits within 2 years and the price plummeted by a good 90% from then on. The end of the story: my shares were all eaten up by the splits until there was nothing left.

two of my very first "investments" were:
i blindly bought the "dip" in beyond meat & oatly at around €1000 each without doing any research and hoped/speculated on a recovery, because everyone knows and uses these well-known big brands and vegan is in vogue. the price will recover at some point and return to old highs.
In the end, both sold at around -90% each.

It was a good learning experience and I'm glad that it happened right at the beginning, because I adjusted my investment strategy and my expectations as a result. 👍🏼

Very true, also started with "blind" stock picking. That can go well, but then it's pure luck.
Or you buy $WDI and after the crash several more times after 🤦‍♂️
