Right on time at the start of the month, last month's dividend💸 was credited to the $XDWT (+1,93 %) and $HMWO (+1,3 %) 📥

Despite the shift into ETFs, I’m still bringing in about €200 to €300 in cash each month from dividends. This means my core ETF savings plan is running completely autonomously and self-sufficiently. 📈💸🫡

While $XDWT (+1,93 %) and 3xGTAA, along with crypto, are expected to act as boosters💥 over the next few decades, $HMWO (+1,3 %) forms the foundation 💶📦

$LDGL (+0,36 %) , on the other hand, generates the monthly cash needed for the savings plans. On a quarterly basis, $HMWO (+1,3 %) a little more and improves the ratio.

Hello dear Getquinners,

I started investing in securities at the beginning of the year.

For many years, we parked our assets in call money accounts, which meant that we lost money for years due to high inflation with (negative) compound interest effects. I now want to change this and have therefore decided to invest some of our assets in the capital market.

We are a family with two small children (aged 1 and 4). We parents are in our mid-30s and in the middle of our working lives.

My goals/hopes are:

• long-term investment >10 years and more
• Inflation protection and (real) asset accumulation beyond overnight interest rates
• If necessary, partial transfer of assets to help the children get started when they come of age

As I don't want to gamble, it should be as "simple" as possible to handle and I am not a daredevil, I have created a "boring" ACWI-IMI portfolio.

We have invested around 60%, the rest is free liquidity, which would last for around 12-14 months without income given our current cost of living. A little conservative perhaps, but that's a start. I also don't want to get scared if the markets take a nosedive.

This is how it looks:

75% core:

• 55% MSCI World $IWDA (+1,19 %)
• 10% MSCI World Small Cap $WSML (+1,19 %)
• 10% MSCI Emerging Markets IMI $EIMI (+2,57 %)

8.5% Precious metals

• Physical gold $IGLN (+0,22 %)

15% Satellites with approx. 2% each

• $IB1T (+0,85 %) Bitcoin share with high opportunity and high risk. Personally, I am not yet completely convinced of this position, I see the "intrinsic" value of a (this) digital currency as being confronted with major environmental problems and am therefore critical. On the other hand, it is supposed to be "digital gold". We will see in the future what is true and what is not...

• $SEMI (+4,18 %) and $XDWT (+1,93 %) I believe in the AI boom and growing markets in digitalization, and see growth opportunities there, but also risks. Naturally increases the USA share in the portfolio...

• $$DFEN (+1,99 %) : Anti-cyclical position in the current increasingly global conflicts. Defense spending is rising worldwide...

• $WMIN (+2,46 %) and $RARE (+1,41 %) as a commodity mix in basic materials. See this as an opportunity with risk, but perhaps this also reacts anti-cyclically to weak markets

• $GERD (+1,07 %) as a personal experiment, as I have read and heard a lot from Gerd Kommer. Can be seen as a core holding, perhaps as a benchmark to the core. I wanted to give it a try.

I also toyed with $WNUC (+4,36 %) but I have to think about whether I really want to invest in nuclear technology (personally subjective thing...). I also read and follow 3XGTAA with interest, but that's too risky for me (for now), for now I'll stay in the World fairway...

Monthly savings installments go equally into the core. I plan to rebalance once a year during the Christmas vacations.

I read a lot in the community and regularly follow the posts. Time and again I also read negative statements about sector and industry bets.

I would be interested to know what you think of my portfolio and why some of you think that sector and sector bets are bad.

Thank you for your feedback and for your consistently excellent contributions to the community!

Hello everyone,

I'm currently thinking a lot about my long-term strategy and would like to hear your opinion on whether I'm making a mistake or whether the plan is sound.

1. my current situation

I am currently invested very "classically" to tech-heavy.

- ETFs:

- Scalable MSCI AC World $SCWX (+1,33 %) 6.300 € (currently 200 € savings rate)

- Xtrackers MSCI World IT $XDWT (+1,93 %) 8.000 € (currently 400 € savings rate)

- Individual shares:

- Allianz $ALV (-2,56 %) : 2.900 €

- Nvidia $NVDA (+3,8 %) : 3.900 €

- TSMC $2330 : 1.700 €

I realize that the IT ETF plus Nvidia/TSMC gives me an extreme tech lump risk.

2. my consideration / the "why"

I am considering changing my strategy from "accumulation/growth" to "distribution/dividend growth".

My main thought concerns the later withdrawal phase (in about 25 years):

If I save purely accumulating, I will have to sell units when I get older to get money. If there is then a bear market, I will eat up my assets much more quickly (sequence of return risk).

With a dividend strategy - according to my theory - I don't touch the substance, but live off the cash flow. I also think it is psychologically easier to stay invested in crises if dividends are still regularly paid into the account....and of course dividends are reinvested during the savings phase.

3. the new strategy: "wide moat" / monopolies

I want to invest specifically in companies that have a de facto monopoly or oligopoly. The idea is that where there is (and can be) no competition, pricing power is high and dividends are (more) secure.

I am thinking of sectors that are "inescapable":

- Railroads: Canadian National Railway ($CNR (-1,24 %)). No one is building new railroad tracks across North America. It is physically and legally almost impossible to build a competing railroad across Canada and the United States.

- Waste: Waste Management ($WM (-0,86 %) ) - Getting landfills approved is nearly impossible.

- Infrastructure/Gases: Air Liquide - not only US? Air Liquide often build gas plants (oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen) directly on the premises of their customers (steelworks, chemical parks). A change of supplier is extremely expensive for the customer and logistically a nightmare ($AI (+0,11 %) ) or American Tower ($AMT (-2 %) ) They own the physical framework of the communication towers. When 5G or 6G is rolled out, AT&T or Verizon will need space on these towers. The leases are long-term and inflation-linked.

- Financial infrastructure: Visa/Mastercard ($V (+1,12 %) / $MA) (+0,17 %). Very low dividend but a monopoly/duopoly?

4. the plan

My savings rate should initially be 600 € later also 700€, ...800€).

I am considering stopping the old savings plans (AC World & IT) and dividing the new money as follows:

- Core: A quality dividend ETF (e.g. Fidelity Global Quality Income ($FGEQ (+0,8 %) ) for the base.

- Satellite: 2-3 of the above "monopoly stocks" direct savings.

My questions to you:

1. Errors in thinking when taking the sample?

Is the assumption that I will be better off with a dividend portfolio in a crash than by selling ETF shares valid? Or is it "left pocket, right pocket"?

2. Dealing with legacy assets:

What do I do with the big tech block (IT ETF + Nvidia)? Leave it as a "growth booster" or reallocate to immediately reduce the cluster risk (pay attention to taxes)?

3. Stock selection:

Do stocks like Canadian National Railway or Waste Management fit my logic? Are there other "monopolists" that I am overlooking?

4. Is the savings rate sufficient?

Does it make sense to divide €600 into ETF + individual shares, or will I get bogged down by the fees/units?

Are there any general suggestions for improvement?

PS: The tax-free amount is €2000 as I am married.

I look forward to your input and critical opinions!

Thank you.

Hello, GetQuin community. I have been a silent reader for quite some time now and wanted to share my portfolio with you.

First of all, I am M22 and started investing in the market in 2020 with small amounts. I currently still live at home with my parents. I have a completed apprenticeship, but I decided to catch up on my A-levels to be able to study. I also have a part-time job.

• My savings rate is therefore only €300 a month
• 100€ goes into a call money account as a reserve
• 200€ goes into my savings plans which I list below

My strategy is a classic core-satelite strategy to build up a small fortune for the future.

The core therefore consists of 4 ETFs which I invest in monthly as follows:

• 60€ $XDWD (+1,28 %) MSCI World ETF to cover the most important companies from developed markets.
• 25€ $EIMI (+2,57 %) MSCI EM ETF to also cover emerging markets.
• 20€ $XDWT (+1,93 %) as I would like to invest more specifically in the IT sector, because I think that this will continue to experience major growth in the future.
• 20€ $SAEU (-0,56 %) I specifically wanted to save in this ETF to increase the European share and because I am very convinced of the weighting of the companies.

Now I come to my individual shares in the savings plan:

• 10€ $LIN (-1,49 %) Linde convinced me very early on, and not just because I deal with them every day at work. Good growth and, in my opinion, a strong future.
• 10€ $PG (-0,21 %) Strong products, my daily companion in the care and household sector.
• 10€ $DHR (+1,76 %) My favorite in the life science sector, I think Danaher will be back in the future.
• 10€ $DTE (+0,5 %) As a German company, I can no longer imagine telecommunications without it.
• 10€ $DE (+2,46 %) John Deere is an emotional investment (🥹) I was already a big fan of Deere machines as a child. Today still a progressive company in my opinion.
• 10€ $NKE (-0,92 %) Fundamentally a very successful company, I am a fan of the company history and the shoes, think that Nike will sooner or later return to its former strength.
• 10€ $WM (-0,86 %) Waste disposal and recycling are becoming increasingly important, environmental solutions are a big issue. Why not WasteManagement?
• 5€ $CSCO (-0,71 %) Big player in the field of cybersecurity, which is becoming increasingly important. I am convinced of the company.

I also hold shares in a few other companies, the reasons for which are described below:

• $SHEL (-0,19 %) I bought some time ago, important and large energy company. I will continue to hold them in the future.
• $NESN (-1,51 %) I bought them back then and am now just waiting to be able to sell them at a positive price.
• $NU (+3,65 %) I am convinced of the company, I think that Nu will have a successful future.
• $O (+1,14 %) I only save Realty Income through the cashback offer from TR, simply to get a few monthly dividends for a good feeling.

I don't save my cryptocurrencies monthly. I started putting a super small amount into Bitcoin early on. I just leave it to work.

$BTC (+0,08 %)
$SOL (+0,29 %)

I would now appreciate a little feedback, criticism and food for thought.

Thank you very much

Hello everyone,

I want to set up a small share portfolio for my mother-in-law for her pension.

The investment horizon is around 15 years.

She plans to pay in €250 per month.

As soon as the subsidized equity pension option is available (2026), this will also be used.

Now I'm wavering between several options "70-30" method from $IWDA (+1,19 %) and $XMME (+2,82 %) or a $ACWI .

I could also imagine adding a $XDWT (+1,93 %) to add.

Do you have any suggestions or impressions?

Thank you for your ideas!
