45Buffett makes secret position public
The 94-year-old star investor is investing in new shares, according to data published by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Friday night. The document also reveals the identity of a position that was built up in secret.
Berkshire takes a stake in United Health
For two quarters, Berkshire had secretly built up a position in a share without having to disclose it. The process is not unusual. It typically happens when Berkshire builds up large positions and does not want copycats to drive up the price.
It is the US insurer United Health $UNH (-0.25%)
After Buffett's entry became known, the share price shot up by over eight percent in the aftermarket. Since the beginning of the year, however, it is still down around 45 percent.
The majority of analysts are confident that United Health will soon overcome its difficulties. According to the financial service LSEG, 19 out of 28 experts currently recommend buying the share. Their average target price of 313.50 dollars is a good 15 percent higher than Thursday's closing price.
Four more buys
At steel producer $NUE (-1.22%) Nucor, Berkshire held 6.6 million shares worth 857 million dollars as at June 30. At the house building company $DHI (-2.12%) DR Horton amounted to 191 million dollars, at the outdoor advertising company $US5128152007 Lamar Advertising to 142 million dollars and $ALLE (-1.32%) Allegion, a manufacturer of locking systems, to 112 million dollars.
All four shares are rather insignificant in Berkshire's portfolio. Together they are only worth 1.3 billion dollars - just 0.5 percent of the total portfolio.
The most important position that was increased, on the other hand, is the oil company $CVX (-0.6%) Chevron. Berkshire increased its position here for the first time since the fourth quarter of 2023. It grew by just under three percent.
Berkshire also increased its position in $POOL (-1.16%) Pool, which claims to be the world's leading distributor of swimming pool accessories (up 136 percent), as well as beverage manufacturer $STZ (-2.34%) Constellation Brands (up eleven percent), the aerospace company $HEI (-0.62%) Heico (up eleven percent) and the pizza chain $DPZ (-1.08%) Dominos Pizza (up 0.5 percent).
Berkshire's equity portfolio continues to shrink
Sold 20 million $AAPL (+1.9%) Apple shares and securities of $BAC (-0.32%) Bank of America and $DHI (-2.12%) D.R. Horton, and the company also completely divested itself of $TMUS (+0.18%) T-Mobile US.
In the second quarter, Berkshire also sold shares in the cable television company $CHTR (-0.8%) Charter Communications (down 46.5 percent), the healthcare group $DVA (-0.29%) Davita (down 3.8 percent) and the media company $FWONA (-2.67%) Liberty Media (2.5 percent).
Buffett also sold shares in Davita in the current quarter. Although Davita is still the tenth largest position in the Berkshire portfolio, it has shrunk by eight percent since March 31. Since the beginning of the year, it has even fallen by almost eleven percent.

T-Mobile US hopes for growth through acquisitions
The Deutsche Telekom subsidiary T-Mobile US $TMUS (+0.18%) is full of zest for action and has planned a number of acquisitions to accelerate its growth. In addition to the already completed takeover of advertising specialist Vistar Media, for which the company has dug deep into its pockets, T-Mobile US would also like to acquire the British ad tech service provider Blis. The move involves an investment of 175 million euros in cash. The strategy is clear: these acquisitions should generate around 250 million euros in additional revenue in the current year and increase the operating profit, the EBITDA, by 75 million euros. In addition, free cash flow is expected to increase by 50 million euros. The T-Mobile share is currently trading at USD 258.49 on the NASDAQ, but a slight drop of 2.33 percent cannot hide the positive outlook.
ProSiebenSat.1 in talks about investments
ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE $PSM (-6.7%) is also proving dynamic and has started talks with General Atlantic about possible minority stakes in the NuCom Group and the ParshipMeet Group. These negotiations could be quite exciting, as they may also include the issue of a mandatory convertible bond and the transfer of treasury shares from ProSiebenSat.1 to General Atlantic. Sales processes for the NuCom Group's stakes in Verivox and flaconi are already underway in the background. If an agreement is reached with General Atlantic, it will be necessary to sell at least one of the two investments. The situation therefore remains dynamic and further information will soon be available to shed further light on ProSiebenSat.1's strategy.

Deutsche Telekom: Profit forecast disappoints analysts
Deutsche Telekom $DTE (-0.15%) has published its profit forecast for 2025 and clearly missed analysts' expectations. The reason for this is the intense price wars in the European markets, which slowed growth last year. 📉
The company expects adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) to increase by around 4.5% to EUR 44.9 billion (USD 47.1 billion) this year. Analysts, however, had expected an Ebitdaal of 46.9 billion euros.
Deutsche Telekom, Europe's largest mobile communications provider, is heavily dependent on its share in the US operator T-Mobile US $TMUS (+0.18%) operator. While T-Mobile's financial figures have recently been positive, analysts expect slower growth in Germany and the rest of Europe, which will be impacted by tough competition and price wars.
On the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, Deutsche Telekom shares fell by 3.6% to 33.71 euros. Despite these declines, the shares have gained 53% in the last 12 months. In the fourth quarter, adjusted Ebitdaal in Germany rose by 2.8% to 2.66 billion euros, exceeding analysts' estimates of 2.65 billion euros.
T-Mobile US launches its satellite telephony in cooperation with Starlink
This means that even the most remote locations will be reached in future, the US subsidiary of the $DTE (-0.15%) on Sunday (local time). In the USA alone, around 1.3 million square kilometers cannot be covered by mobile phone masts. Special satellite phones have therefore mostly been used in these regions or on the high seas.
