Loophole to buy gold free of fees?🥀

Is it true that you can buy EUWAX Gold II $EWG2 (+1.07%)
on the exchange and can immediately request physical delivery (from 1 g) - and thus receive real gold at the spot price without TER, storage or delivery fees, thus completely avoiding dealer mark-ups (e.g. Degussa +10% or ~€20 fee)?

In short: If so, where is the practical catch (delivery deadlines, minimum quantities, hidden costs, deposit/banking conditions, delivery modalities)?

Here from the EUWAX website:

None for 100 g or a whole multiple. The first delivery attempt within Germany is free of charge for the investor on the part of Boerse Stuttgart Commodities GmbH. Whether and to what extent the custodian bank charges fees for the transmission of the exercise notice and the bearer bond to the paying agent may vary from bank to bank. For deviating denominations, formal and, if applicable, delivery costs will be charged.

everything can be found on the Euwax website.... FIRST delivery from 100g = ~ 20.000€ is free of charge. What the broker, clearing house, i.e. TR, SC, etc. may charge as a processing fee is unknown (must be taken out of the custody account). But an instruction normally costs 5-15€ at traditional banks.

The physical delivery of $EWG2 works perfectly via the form and is free of shipping costs from 100g.
A courier will come by and put your gold in your hand 🙂

@BigMo ok thanks! Another question: If you hold EUWAX Gold II (ETC) for more than one year and then have it physically delivered (100 g or more), the ETC shares will be canceled. How can you then prove that you have actually held the shares for longer than one year in order to claim the tax exemption for investment gold?

@Epi That's funny. I've just looked again for the receipt for the securities issue from Deutsche Bank.
That was in 2020 and I had 150 pieces delivered. 🤷‍♂️
Took 2 weeks.
