Deutsche Bank: 2025 figures - record year despite challenges

Today the $DBK (+1.51%) presented its results for 2025 - and they show one of the strongest reporting periods in a long time. Analysts had expected a net profit of around €6 billion for the year as a whole, but the bank actually generated over €6.1 billion - its highest profit since 2007.

The results for the fourth quarter also exceeded forecasts:

Turnover (expected): approx. € 7.7 billion

Turnover (reported): approx. € 7.7 billion

Net profit (expected): € 1.12 bn

Net profit (reported): € 1.3 bn

In addition, the management has approved a share buyback program with a volume of €1 billion. Despite this strong balance sheet, the report is also overshadowed by the ongoing investigation into possible money laundering violations, which has temporarily weighed on the share price.

I am invested myself and am more than satisfied with the latest development - especially because the bank is operating much more profitably again.

What do you think of the $DBK (+1.51%) ?

Ever since "Peanuts", I've had a certain aversion to the place and its arrogance. My wife has been a customer there for 25 years, sometimes it's hair-raising what they have to offer for petty private customers. But she's conservative, a la Oppa was at $DBK, my father was at $DBK so I'll stay there too. Not my money, not my sorrows. Not a year goes by without news of involvement in market manipulation, money laundering and fines. The share price has developed magnificently, congratulations to all investors, I'm actually emotional here and won't touch the share.🤷‍♂️

@Dividendenopi Thank you for your assessment! If you're not convinced by the company itself, you definitely shouldn't invest - I completely agree with you.

As for the situation with your wife, I can well understand that. I also use a local bank myself, simply because it feels like half the family are customers there - that's where my convenience comes in.

@Dividendenopi For the sake of completeness: Ackermann has not been with us for a long time. The current reports concern the past. This is what Tagesschau.de writes in its article from 29.01.2026:

"Right at the beginning of his speech, Sewing deviates from his original text and addresses the ongoing money laundering investigations. The CEO of the bank said that it concerned events from 2013 to 2018. The starting point is a suspected money laundering report that was allegedly submitted too late. On this basis, the public prosecutor's office is investigating whether there are any indications of possible money laundering."

The performance of the last few years has been fun. But the dividend policy of $DBK is always very stingy. The bank likes bonuses all the more.

@Greenbug Good point 😄 $DBK was rather cautious about the dividend for a long time, that's true. However, there are currently clear signs that this is changing. A noticeable dividend increase is planned for the current year, and a further share buyback has also been decided.

For me, this means: bonuses or not - if the results remain stable, we shareholders will receive more in the meantime. I can live with that.
