Simplifying my portfolio – What would you choose as a core today?

My portfolio is currently up about 13% since I started investing a year ago, which I’m happy with. However, I’m starting to feel like I have too many positions.

I want to simplify things and build a strong core for my portfolio. Around that core, I’d keep a few individual stocks where I can be more active with my management and decision-making.

Right now I’m trying to decide what would make the most sense as a core strategy today.

Some specific combinations I’m thinking about:

What do you think would make the best core portfolio today for a long term investor?

I’d really appreciate hearing your opinions and how you would approach simplifying a portfolio like this.

@emppsb_theroockie_ yes and no, this is all investable market, so it means it includes world, emerging markets, small caps, everything.

@beardonfire I’ll have this in consideration thank you for your advice. I checked and based on the last 10 years 90% vwce + 10% small cap is the most profitable, historically of course.

I want this to be 50% of my portfolio, more 20% with satellites ( cyber , semi , energy ) and the rest is individual stocks
