$VOW3 (-2.6%)

I entered the VW VZ. share at a relatively unfavorable time. ~130€ 🫣

The share price has improved a little recently 🤠. Moreover, the dividends have not been so bad in recent years 🤑.

Hence my question to you:

Would you continue to bet on VW ( the share in the portfolio is relatively high at around 7-8% ), or realize partial losses and invest elsewhere. 🤔🤔

I would be very grateful for any constructive feedback!

Personally, I continue to hold on and see great potential for 2026. The company knows its weaknesses and is working hard to remedy them. Although sentiment is currently poor, especially in Germany, profits are still being generated, and some subsidiaries have even posted record profits in recent years. Until share prices rise again, simply take the dividends and/or buy more.

If its true, there will become world war III. But in this time i think, portugal will bomb up with atomic bombs from russia. Because there is rum. and rum is bigger than wodka. i think it will become true.

I just keep my distance from Volkswagen. The YouTube channel "Was kostet die Welt" has just published a very informative 30-minute report on the subject. I see no reason for optimism.

@Hitchkock89 I've also seen it and it's roughly correct, but important facts are missing here and there (e.g. very positive results of the subsidiaries, investments in important software companies (not Cariad), investments and new patents in battery technology) or are partly not correctly reproduced (e.g. true goal of e-UP/Citigo/eMii production or political hurdles that we have to fight in Europe, independent of VW). In the area of reducing emissions well-to-wheel, for example, VW was a leader in CNG development. Unfortunately, this was canceled, mainly because politicians saw higher tax revenues from e-cars and changed the focus to tank-to-wheel. However, nature is interested in the complete cycle and not just a section of it. Furthermore, according to the video, the CO2 fleet value is only reduced with e-cars, but in reality this is mainly done with hybrids. Unfortunately, politicians in many countries have also been rather counterproductive so far and are not keeping their promises (e.g. much too slow expansion of the charging infrastructure in Spain). What particularly bothers me about this and similar videos is that the problems that affect the entire automotive industry are only attributed to VW. Nothing was said about the future potential of battery technology, no mention was made of opening up new markets (e.g. Cupra in Australia & USA), but even models that are already in pre-series production were questioned, so for me it's more of a clickbait video.

@SSVDom yes. and why?
So many negative factors are already priced into the share price, CR is extremely interesting and it will quickly shoot up to 130 if there are 1-2 good quarters. Furthermore, it can be assumed that the 1/3 cut in the divi can be maintained in the medium term or even moderately increased again.

@Sand Why did they cut the dividend? Is it the same 30% as last year?
@Reinecke then approx. 9 now approx. 6 euros so reduced by 1/3
profile image
@Sand What is relevant, however, is the payout ratio in relation to net profit. This is 28% for 2024 and for the 2023 financial year. Nothing has been cut, only less remains. /The payout ratio was allegedly even increased to 29.6%.
@Reinecke That's true, but I meant what the shareholder receives.

VW, Ford and Toyota would be the only companies capable of resisting and adapting to global change.

I would keep VW, it will be worth it in the medium term.

I got in at 120, take the dividend and wait, unless you need the money or want to invest it elsewhere.

If your investment is no longer worthwhile ... get out and invest in something better unfortunately doesn't work here. I bought again at the low to push down the EK. They will come back, but it will take a lot of patience. It wasn't planned that the US would escalate like this, but it will happen again in 2026.
