IREN stock is jumping about 6% higher today in pre-market trading in the U.S.

  • $IREN (-0.72%) The reason for this is the official announcement that IREN has successfully delivered its first 50-megawatt AI cloud site (“Horizon 1”) to Microsoft, and that the customer has accepted it. Key details from today’s (August 13, 2026) Microsoft acceptance: Horizon 1 is the first of four planned 50-MW facilities on the campus in Childress, Texas. The delivery is part of a five-year, $9.7 billion cloud services contract.Nvidia “Exemplar Cloud” Status: At the same time, Nvidia has officially tested the facility and granted IREN the exclusive status of an Exemplar Cloud based on the Nvidia GB300 NVL72 system (with liquid cooling directly on the chip).
  • Revenue Target Reinforced: The confirmation of Microsoft’s acceptance removes significant risks from the project. The company thus remains on track to meet its raised ARR (annualized revenue) target of over $4 billion for 2026. IREN plans to deliver the remaining phases (Horizons 2–4) later this year.

That’s significant—and this is just the beginning. If $IREN continues to meet the expectations associated with the Microsoft contract and the expansion of its AI infrastructure, there could be a great deal of long-term potential here. Today’s announcement shows that IREN not only has big plans but can also deliver on them.
