Hold or sell?

$NIO (+2.92%)

It actually began with a lot of hope and confidence. Over time, more and more disillusionment and disappointment set in. The cars are great, the swapping network is being expanded (not far from me in Burgwedel near Hanover, so almost around the corner). But the price only goes in one direction.

Then there are the US and A, who demonize everything and everyone (rightly or wrongly, it doesn't matter) and want to keep the Chinese out.

I currently have a whopping -60% in NIO in my account.

The question is... hold on and hope for improvement or rather sell and lose a few hundred before things get really ugly?

What do you think?

Thanks for your participation 👍🏼

I dumped Nio a year ago at -80%. At the time, I followed the instructions at @DonkeyInvestor https://app.getquin.com/de/post/JMQwETSOoS/warum-es-sinn-ergibt-fehlkaufe-mit-verlust-zu-verkaufen. So far I have to say that I haven't done anything wrong by selling, because the "remaining money" was better invested than holding.

The cars will prevail. Just be patient.

would stay. European Asian manufacturer, best of both worlds.
Admittedly in a difficult market, but not a sell for me.

Basically, buying at the top and then giving up hope makes little sense. The market cap is no longer hype, so even in the medium term a better selling price should emerge if you really want to sell.

sell order at $8, $13 or $1.85, depending on whether you think it's competitive or not

If you still have confidence in the company, then you can (keep) the position. If not, then I would not sell the entire position immediately, but would sell it gradually for tax reasons and in line with realized gains.

Thank you very much for your answers. I will have a look at it until the middle of the year and then make a final decision 👍🏼
